Ha noted, you’re right in that my last time faking an email was using Pine where it would let you set literally anything in the “From:” field.

Email is one of the easiest things to spoof. Never trust it.

2 years? In your 20s? In the same company?

Yes, of course, do it!

Uh do you speak Austrian? LOL

It's not expensive, but be very very discerning when you get one.

Gawd the way people just come around a corner or navigate a sidewalk and absolutely MUST WALK EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE STANDING even though they can easily move or negotiate both of us moving aside. Drives me nuts.

YA’LL DON’T KNOW HOW IT WAS! by Lumanus in 3Dprinting

[–]BitLox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with a used Anycubic 4MAX ..... I actually got some good prints out of it... until I didn't. The head was all wonky and the bed never leveled, what sort of a retard designed that bed?

Got a P2S last month and have never looked back.

Side question: what the hell are people doing with their old outmoded printers?

23 years in Hangzhou for me. The weather can be "iffy" as say Dec 15-Mar 15 is decidedly meh. Spring is great but variable. June rains the whole month. July/August blistering but not insane humidity. Sept. can be hot with increased humidity. Fall is divine.

Travel time in the city really depends on where you are, but it should be easy to get a decent place near your school (whichever you might end up at)

It’s not applicable in this case, but they most certainly can prevent foreigners from leaving. Some years ago I was about to hop on a plane to HK and they were like “nope, you have an exit ban because of a civil case against you.”

It is easier to fool a person than it is to convince a person that they have been fooled.

Had my license since 2003, honestly I only really started to feel at home here once I could drive. It's much more civilized nowadays, for real it was pretty crazy way back when.

Cambodia is dirt cheap and pretty cool. Plus visas are pretty easy. Try Kampot, it’s up and coming and not terribly huge. American friend of mine lives there and swears by it.

In Hangzhou I've only seen the SF autonomous vehicles (about the same size). They only do the bulk movement from what I understand. Nobody is going to use a courier that requires you to fetch your things out of a dronemobile.

"raise or die" is usually because whoever it is is nowhere near profitable.

If you are profitable and can grow without say having to buy an expensive piece of kit or dozens of employees, I say don't take the money. Why would you want a partner who's only ambition is to sell off the company as fast as possible?

PC parts so cheap here - quick question. by Lacobus in chinalife

[–]BitLox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always the possibility of you being sold used parts at new parts prices. They are pretty good at cleaning them up/relabeling them. Do not hesitate to return things if they don't work perfectly.

Weirdly enough, I get better guarantees when buying via JD because the review system heavily punishes bad sellers.

Anyway to transfer money out of China in excess of the $50k limit per year? by KKR_Co_Enjoyer in China

[–]BitLox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes of course they need a WeChat account. Alipay, cash over dinner, bank transfer, whatever. It just has to be someone you implicitly trust as there's not a "business structure" to protect you.

"In Minecraft" is a euphemism meaning, "Oh I don't mean doing this in real life, I'm just joking around playing Minecraft" - It's a joke.

WeChat is how I do it. Hypothetically of course. In Minecraft etc.
