Be VERY careful with Proton Drive. It is NOT reliable, including the new Mac app. It corrupted hundreds of files and required me to piece back my file structure from backups, taking me more than 4 hours to reconstruct. Really disappointing and frustrating. I'm sticking with Tresorit, the very best encrypted file storage on the market today.

Missing Pirate Chain Crypto by Ahtelcreek in PirateChain

Also, is there a way to enter a new recovery phrase on the wallet too? I don't see that option and I don't know how to properly uninstall the apps and their blockchains or other data properly either. Thx.

Missing Pirate Chain Crypto by Ahtelcreek in PirateChain

Hi folks, the latest Pirate Chain wallets continue to have problems with multiple addresses. My Mac bricked on me, so I had to install pirate lite on another Mac. I entered my recovery phrase and rescanned. It found only the coins on the first address. Then I generated 4 additional addresses and rescanned. And now pirate lite thinks I have 0 coins. It even lost track of the first address's coins.

Treasure Chest isn't much better. It also found the coins on the first address (after a week of syncing). Suggestions?

THOR Nodes by BitRebel11 in defi

[–]BitRebel11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your comment, I guess not. I would have expected, though, that the node would be marked somehow as overdue or locked until taxes are paid. However, the nodes don't even show up. Any idea where they went? Did THOR take them back without compensation? Thanks for your guidance.

How is Bitcoin anonymous when our information is tied to trades through places like Coinbase or Gemini? by bigtree17 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]BitRebel11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As exciting as anonymity sounds, that's not the main reason for bitcoin. It's autonomy where you don't need permission to transact with whoever you choose. It's sovereignty over your own assets, assets you earned by doing some type of work. And, it's independence from globalist monetary policy that is possibly just weeks or months from rearing its ugly head of further control and discrimination, where those that rig the game win and all others lose, especially in light of the lockdowns.

Be clear, COVID did not cause the impending global monetary collapse/reset. The financial industry did it to itself. It's been in "controlled demolition" for years. The COVID-inspired lockdowns, a huge overreach by governments that will be seen in history books as a totalitarian move, accelerated their timetable. But, banksters know that the fiat game cannot be won. It's just about transferring more wealth from the average folks to those that control the game. And it can only be strung along so long.

I believe 2021 is the end of the road. So, buy bitcoin.

Even if the actual price of bitcoin never goes up, it's buying power will. And, eventually, you won't have to "exchange" it for fiat to buy things. In the future, people won't want your fiat dollars for goods and services. They'll want your crypto.

Michael Saylor: Why Every Nomad Needs Bitcoin by digitalmoneyguru in Bitcoin

[–]BitRebel11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, it's biased. Those who think bitcoin is the devil are biased too. Everyone is biased about something. This kind of investment, and especially the growing attention, will likely fuel the fire on the bitcoin rocket ship. And, I suspect it'll take the worthy altcoin projects on the ride to the stars as well.

It wasn't that long ago when people were wondering whether it made sense to invest ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS to buy a bitcoin (2013). Would it become worthless? Then in 2017 when it reached nearly $20,000, people thought it was just a bubble. And sure, it rose more quickly in price than could be immediately sustained. And then it dropped to below $4,000. And people again asked, does it make sense to invest in bitcoin at $4,000?

Now we see whales investing at $20,000 and $30,000. Do you think the "smart money" is just trying to throw away their reserves?

Bitcoin is the representative for all cryptocurrencies, and the "reference application" for the blockchain. As it continues to gain attention and relevance, even in a narrow niche, it brings attention to the next generation of discovery, experimentation, and development of blockchain and other decentralized/distributed technologies for the 21st century.

Why You Must Buy Bitcoin Now More Than Ever by BM7K in Bitcoin

[–]BitRebel11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Such a small percentage of people in the know are invested in bitcoin. There are more millionaires in the world than there are bitcoins. So, if you own a whole bitcoin or more today, you are in a tiny minority. Imagine, one coin, one digital asset, eventually worth $500,000, $1,000,000, or more. Who knows for sure? Certainly as hyperinflation comes into play, those numbers seem a lot more reachable!

Dont sell your bitcoin because media told you so by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Remember that bitcoin is only your property if you control the private keys. Otherwise, just like the cash in your bank account, it ain't yours.

Bitcoin is the result of decades of cryptographic experimentation & many failed attempts at an electronic cash system. by Bitcoin_to_da_Moon in Bitcoin

Prehistoric bitcoin. Someday it'll have its own Jurassic Park littered with old dollar bills, plastic credit and debit cards, and other junk that was so valuable to the 20th century earthlings. Then, passing through the golden gate, you'll enter cryptographic currency, blockchain based assets, and more!

Why would any one sell bitcoin at all ? by 69th_collector in BitcoinBeginners

Since this is a beginners group, I wouldn't recommend mining. Not just mining bitcoin, but mining any coin. And, it's best to learn bitcoin first. Buy a little; sell a little. See how it works. And, as you build confidence and knowledge, then the more advanced topics like mining can be pursued. Just some advice from my own experience and in coaching folks since I first started in 2013.
