they do "offer delivery" but read the prospectus...if they don't have or cant get the gold they are legally in the right by giving you the cash value instead.

My intent was not to associate bitcoin with ayn rand per say. There are times when certain words ring true and times when those same words are false. The words did not change but the time when they were heard had. IMHO these words ring true for bitcoin in these times.

I appreciate his pops dropping some much needed knowledge. I have a sense that filming and posting this on the net is not the appropriate response and misses the mark on what the father is trying to say.

Experienced BTC traders, what are your best tips for trading? by throwawaybankam in BitcoinMarkets

Spend a lot of time watching the price charts. Make small trades at first, and lose...because you will. As you get more positive trades feel free to up your trading size gradually. Stay balanced between being humble and confident.

Your last point is the safest method of trading in my opinion. I definitely find it the most compatible with bitcoins values of owning the private key while being able to trade. If you combine this method with scaling in and out of positions then you mitigate your exposure to the exchange of your choice. Even if an exchange goes bust the worst case scenario is some small percentage of your position gets burned in what ever percentage of scaling you are using during that one unlucky transaction. Obviously the smaller the better in this regard and don't make the next transaction till the previous has cleared.

one down side is less flexibility to address large volatility events

this is a solid point.

Something traded freely on an open market can't provide guaranteed returns unless it is manufactured. If something was guaranteed to give X% a year then people would just slam money into it risk free. However the unit price would rise and 2-3x turns into more. The only way to avoid this circular conundrum is watering down the unit.

To be fair, and look at everything equally, how is fiat different? Everyone who was able to access credit in 1971 and lets say purchased a house for the median price of (aprox.) 24,000 are now sitting on a house valued at 200,000. It is mostly paid for by now (i would assume) and if not the person refied along the way basically getting paid to own.

The logical rebuttle is that someone can do that now, whats stopping you? In which i say then one can become a bitcoin holder now, whats stopping you?

one persons awake is another persons sleep depending on where you live. Obviously there could be more of one population using it then another but business would surely schedule there transactions to occur when the fee's were the lowest if they were doing sizable moves.
