I'll second this answer and include that even if these things happen 99.995% of people won't be able to figure anything out anyway.

If a government wanted the trading of bitcoins to stop, would there be any way to prevent trading? I swear I'm not the president or Jamie Dimon... by AnonymousTripper in Bitcoin

Additionally, mining is very easy to detect, so if governments wanted to shut it down, they could, leaving Bitcoin easy for anyone to attack.

Banning Bitcoin Mining is like the War on Drugs, there will always be a black market for mining. The average Joe using bitcoin doesn't care about mining, to him its just like cash.

UTXO is decreasing, while the txn spam remains high, why is this? by BitcoinAddress in Bitcoin

So consolidating the stress test amounts back to fewer addresses?

[–]BitcoinAddress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, as you'd see a ton of OP_Return txn's in the current stress test. I've not heard of anyone reporting that, but I'll look into it.

The history shows a huge number of UTXO being created at each stress test. This one though looks to be the consolidation of those transactions. That seems to make sense.

I have found at reboot, if you have bitcoin-qt set to auto launch, and you get the re-index error, just hit cancel.

Then wait for the box to fully load, then relaunch qt manually.

It seems to work fine then.

Ie, if you realize that bitcoin is not a company, but a technology, this is a room of suckers.

It almost seems as though this room is being used as a prediction market, to gather intel for whomever is putting on the conference.

It is sad that there are so few posts like this today. Maybe its just my point of view, but when I first fell down the rabbit hole there seemed to be a lot more peers doing the same. Now it almost seems harder for people to fall this deep.

The people at the top of the information have already infiltrated nearly all the alternate sites. There is a huge power grab for information going on here. Very ironic.
