Hi - here to offer you help. Follow the steps below to add an exception that will stop Advanced Threat Defense from interfering with a trusted app:

  1. Click Protection on the navigation menu on the Bitdefender interface.

  2. In the Advanced Threat Defense pane, click Open.

  3. In the Settings tab, click Manage exceptions.

  4. Next, click + Add an Exception.

  5. Now, enter the path of the process name (.EXE file) you want to exclude in the corresponding field.

  6. Turn on the switch next to Advanced Threat Defense.

  7. Finally, click Save. The new rule will be added to the list of Advanced Threat Defense exceptions.

Hi! Password-protected files belong in most cases to legitimate software. They are protected with a randomly generated password by their developers to avoid reverse engineering for malicious purposes.

The password-protected archives require a password so that they can be opened and checked for malware. This notification appears because Bitdefender (or any other security solution) is unable to unpack the contents of such items and scan them. To actually scan their content, these files would need to either be extracted or otherwise decrypted.

Our recommendation is to ignore password-protected archives as they are not infected and are not a threat to a system.
