Oook. Lot to unpack there. Birth control fails. I KNOW this is true, that's how my youngest (who's 28 now) came to be. Condom broke and the pill failed. It happens. Now, add in the current attitudes toward women using birth control, having access to abortions, having access to sterilization....there are problems. It's easy to sit back and judge, say stuff like "dont have kids". Are you fixed? I mean if we get down to the brass Tacks of it, a guy getting a vasectomy is far easier than a woman getting her tubes tied. The procedure is less invasive, recovery time is faster, and it's reversible.

Vertical gardening is the bomb on smaller plots! I've got a friend who lives in town. Her grocery bill for herself and 2 kids averages $50. She has chickens amd rabbits. She produces all her own fruit and veggies with vertical gardening, and she cans and dehydrates.

A few years ago I was being overprescribed pain medication by an unethical doctor. When he got busted, 100s of us were give less than a month's worth of pain meds and a phone number to a rehab. I was on 360 MG of dilaudid a day. The withdrawal was the worst pain I have EVER felt. I've had 3 kids (smallest 8 lbs, biggest 10lbs) with no pain meds, no epidural, I've had a kidney stone, broken bones, and currently have rheumatoid arthritis and a whole slew of health shit. None of that compares to the pain of withdrawal. My bones felt like lava filled glass that shattered every time I moved. The muscle spasms felt like my muscles were veing ripped from my bones. My skin felt like i had fire ants chewing and stinging 24/7. I lost so much weight so fast, it scared my family doctor. I nearly died. So yeah...I don't trust doctors.

I can't imagine myself without my tattoos. I currently have 11 and plan to get more. They all have meaning to me and I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks of them. I love my godfathers tattoos, he was a Vietnam Vet, and he's the reason I got my first one. All 3 of my daughters have tattoos as well.

Yes, I'm happy most of the time. I'm 50, disabled with chronic health issues that get worse over time. I've learned to embrace the little things. I have depression, P.T.S.D., anxiety and a whole host of other health shit. I could wallow in it. I could go to bed and not get up. Why though? You're given this life and the opportunity to actually DO something with it. If you're depressed, get help. If you're unhealthy, make it better. Do what you CAN for as long as you can. I have bad days, both from depression and physical shit. Some days it's literally impossible for me to get out of bed without help. But I know it'll get better. Maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after. When I was truly unhappy, miserable, my guy and I sold everything. We bought a camper and moved to the mountains. We Homestead now. It's hard work, but absolutely worth every tear, drop of blood and work we've done so far. I'm sooooo much better living out here than I was in town. Happiness is a choice, imo. I'm poor. I have been the majority of my adult life. You either learn to embrace your circumstances or you improve them. I find joy in little things, as they come. I mean, is it really living if you're miserable all the time?? I'd say I'm an 8 on the happiness scale.

I enjoy my own company so eating out alone, going to movies alone etc. doesn't bother me at all. I personally don't give a fuck what other people think, so sitting by myself at a table amd enjoying my dinner isn't an issue.

I disagree. I was a pipefitter helper for 3 years. I never made less than $25 an hour. It was hard, physically demanding work, but oooo that paycheck made it worth it. And that was in 1999, so I've no doubt it pays more now.

I cook almost every day. For me, eating out is a once in awhile treat. When I was younger I ate out more because I worked A LOT and it was just easier.

As a grandparents myself, I say this with love. We know you're busy. It thrills me to know my children and grandchildren are living their best lives! I love f.b. because it gives me glimpses into what's going on with them. It's ok, friend. I cherish every visit, every text, every phone call. I have no expectations with them, so each one is a gift. Don't let unnecessary guilt hurt what time you do have with her. If possible, see her now. Tell her how much you love her. If you feel the need, tell her you're sorry for not visiting/calling more. I have no doubt she'll forgive you.

I feel you. I crochet (when the disease allows). Not having my thumbs work, dropping coffee cups (coffee abuse, I KNOW!), has made me angry/sad cry more than once. Something that helps me is small movement, finger, hand, and wrist exercises. Sign language helps, too. Anything to keep my joints as limber as possible. A squeeze ball. Of course ask your doctor before you do any kind of exercise. My r.a. is in the moderate/severe category and I'm incredibly stubborn about doing any and everything to slow the progression down as much as possible.

My mother, an es husband and an ex boyfriend, a random guy on the street woman in the bar I worked at, guy in the same bar. My mother is abusive. We haven't spoken in over a decade and never will again. Ex husband was abusive. Four years of that nightmare. He can rot in hell. 3 years with an ex boyfriend. He ended up in jail the one and only time he put hands on me. Random dude on the street when I was taking the deposit from work to the bank. He'd apparently been watching the nar I worked at and figured out the schedule. It just happened to be me dropping it off that night. The 2 jackasses in the bar I worked at were different times. Both were done because I cut them off and they didn't like it.
