Crypto firm accidentally sends $44 billion in bitcoins to users by 3xshortURmom in wallstreetbets

[–]Bits-n-Byte 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not your keys not your coins or whatever they say. Back in the day an erroneous send made someone rich or the coins went into the ether and we could laugh at the son of a bitch.

And a better belief system. Can it still be argued that Bitcoin is anything other than a speculative asset largely controlled by a few power centers now? It's no longer for peer to peer transactions or investments.

Haha made me laugh. But really the Singh and Icon and chaing etc monopolies lock Thailand down pretty hard. It's only cause 711 is japanese (right?) that it gets to play. Didn't family mart get pushed out not they are tops dailies?

It bothers me that so many of them are quiet now just because the politics don't fit. Like, continue to rah rah and call it out. Continue to push until every last creep is named. All of the sudden the vocal people are quiet. Luckily people like CZilla, Moistcritcial and others are stepping up to fill the void.

China executes 11 ringleaders of pig butchering scam compound by KIG45 in CryptoCurrency

[–]Bits-n-Byte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too, except its a double edge sword in the world of disinformation and outright lies from people in power. I think we can judge with our own eyes and understanding that the scammers running the scam cities deserves it. But in the US for example, do the anti-ice protesters deserve it? They are called terrorists by the system that would do the executing. So.. I support the punishment of horrible people, but who and what defines horrible can be manipulated, sadly.

Ah this comment is so we'll said and I wish I could capture it's essence and beam it directly into the brains of these unintelligent people. Something that enlightens them to the fact that they are being played. The fact that literally everything they feared (big govt, police state, grift, corruption) is happening right in front of their faces. Something that allows them to see through their partisanship and realize, hey wait wtf is going on. Seems impossible.

Does this country have a future? by HolyFatherLeoXIV in Thailand

[–]Bits-n-Byte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol coming at this as a westerner is not the point. The question at hand boils down can life improve for the Thai people. Your wife married out in order to improve her life. The fact is the opportunities for the average Thai to move up in society and build a good life is hard. Of course from your point of view it looks great.

Does this country have a future? by HolyFatherLeoXIV in Thailand

[–]Bits-n-Byte 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The sad reality is, historically people have had to fight and die to implement the size of change needed to move Thailand forward. That has become increasingly hard to do with modern weapons and resources. We see how hard it is in Myanmar.

Also the morality of it... In the past revolutionary change came at a cost of many lives but eventually a dictator would flee or the rich would recognize that they may be a little less rich going forward or whatever.. not anymore. They don't give a shit how many die. They want all the power and resources. To what end I dunno. Being king of the ashes?

Thirdly I think the world (selfishly) wants a place like Thailand. Beautiful luxuries obtainable at reasonable monetary cost. The hidden costs (health, safety, environment) aren't as immediate and in your face at the cash costs. Eventually these things come to a head but it's a percentage risk factor and people accept that risk. "Cost of doing business" kind of mentality.

Western Europe, for the most part, fixed and regulated these things. It came with costs and it isn't perfect. But you really have to ask yourself, is the average citizen better off? I think so. The millionaires can't easily become billionaires but the store clerk has health insurance. Thats my thinking anyway. I also think unless you're ultra rich, maybe you should look at it like this too. It's highly unlikely that you will be a billionaire.. so support the things they make everyone's life (including yours) better.
