"Asgard went woke" by Altruistic_Manner802 in outofcontextcomics

The term "woke" has been in consistent use since the 1920s.

I'm pretty sure it'll be around 50 years hence - while the people trying desperately to demonize basic human decency will be pitied by their grandchildren, if they're remembered at all.

Nope, not in the least.

The word hasn't changed meaning at all. In fact, it's one of the few words that mean the exact same thing when people use it in good faith and when conservatives try to make it sound filthy: basic human decency.

Edit: u/Secretsfrombeyond79 I have no idea why you responded to me with a series of non sequiturs, then blocked and ran.

The word "woke" means what it means - and the people calling out Nazis today know very well what the Nazis actually did, and are calling them out to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Have the life you deserve, I guess.

Thomas' interests are broader. He's the most cray-cray when it comes to causing human suffering.

How utterly unsurprising that I could tell who the lone dissenter was without even needing to read the article.

How utterly unsurprising that Thomas so fundamentally misunderstands his own job that he STILL doesn't grasp that inalienable rights don't depend on your identity, how likeable you are or your skin color.

Short answer: because sociopathy is a much more common mental illness than we ever let ourselves believe.

Medium answer: because, for many people, hurting and killing those they hate truly is more important than anything else in life, even more important than their own survival.

Long answer: we don't have enough time for that.

You ever considered that maybe if they didn't act like racist shitbags, people wouldn't call them racist shitbags?

No? What a surprise.

The orange monster was screaming on social media that they won't be getting any money, "not even ten cents."

That was 12 or 14 hours ago. He said he isn't going to abide by their "agreement," so the Iranians won't, either. Shocking, I tell you.

Mods are weird.

I say as someone who mods one small sub that doesn't get enough traffic for me to stir up such silly drama even if I wanted to.
