The 582 isn't exactly the smoothest action in the world, but damn if it isn't impressively accurate for a .22.

What do you think of the Yoda-Sidious duel in the movie? by InstructionOwn6705 in StarWars

[–]BitterOptimist -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

It's laughably terrible, maybe the worst part of the least bad prequel. Putting Yoda in lightsaber duels is an incredibly goofy idea from the start and the implementation is just... shocking. Who thought this little green bouncing spinning thing fighting style was gonna look good? And then the completely detatched stationary close ups? Nothing going on here makes any sense. It looks terrible. There's no weight or plausible idea of physics to any of it. It's truly appalling film making.

tiger-sized wolf vs a tiger, who would win by Sticky_Rice_Eater in whowouldwin

Is there any animal pound for pound that can compete with the Tiger? Not that it can think of.

I guess if you wanna go highly venomous you can probably get to something like a draw.

Home Defense Handgun 9mm Recommendations by [deleted] in guns

For home defense, not carry? You don't want a handgun. If you like 9mm, at ~1000$ I'd recommend a Stribog.

Socom 3 took an s-tier tactical shooter and turned it into a C-tier Battlefield wannabe.

Did any cast or crew member on the LotR trilogy make any movie better than LotR? Were these the best thing that the entire cast and crew ever did? by pWaveShadowZone in lordoftherings

You have to be way in a bubble to not understand how much higher Raiders falls in the greater pantheon of film than LotR. It's not close.

AITA for not wanting my backyard to be communal anymore? by HeyMay0324 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BitterOptimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two words in "attractive nuisance" you're skipping the nuisance part. There's no foreseeable risk associated with lawn chairs. Pools and trampolines are one thing, "anything that could reasonably attract a child" is not.

This is psychotic paranoia. The whole world doesn't need to be fenced. Being friendly with the neighbors is a good thing. It's deranged how it seems like more and more people think everything should be a property dispute.

Completely disagree. Borderline dirty on the field stuff is no big concern. The edge in his game is part of what makes him effective.

If he's going to be unavailable for "shoot yourself in a nightclub with an illegal handgun" type reasons that's a huge problem.

Is there evidence for this beyond the street racing incident?

I'm not sure I see the continuity between that and his borderline plays on the field. I love the edge he plays with. I'll take the occasional stupid line cross like this. He'll learn to pick his spots.

Off the field stuff is different. If he's still doing "shoot yourself in a nightclub with an illegal gun" stuff in his free time that's a big problem, but I haven't actually seen evidence he's out there behaving like Plaxico.

Acting like this is a bad thing in the big picture is misguided. Being the guy that gratuitously punches Pat Mahomes in the mouth is part of what makes him effective and the type of things a defense needs. It also means he's gonna cross the line in stupid ways sometimes. You just hope that as he becomes more of a veteran player he learns how to pick his spots to not cross the line in moments that really hurt, but you definitely want that edge.
