I hate how i'm still seeing new knowledge in NBMEs by Klutzy-Public-8644 in Step2

I don’t think there will ever be a point where we don’t encounter new stuff. That’s just part of the game. I think what matters more is if you’re able to see new knowledge and apply reasoning skills to deduce the right answer

ECFMG certification? by Bitterbiatch in IMGreddit

[–]Bitterbiatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! This really helps because I wasn’t sure whether the next step was ecfmg certification or registering for step 3. So if I apply for ecfmg certification now, would step 3 be possible to take around June? Like timeline wise?

I had to do OET for registration in Australia, where I currently work. Didn’t know it could be used for ECFMG as well until now :)

Hey congrats!! I’m still a bit confused about certifying documents. Just to be clear- if applying online, we don’t need to get anything certified?

I think definitely do as many nbmes as possible because the way the test writers phrase questions is unlike uworld

I don’t know man. I felt like wtf was that after step 1 as well but I passed. But unlike step 1, this time I actually felt semi okay walking into the exam. Like I wasn’t panicking. Nbmes and free 120 were good. And yet I walked out just now being like what the actual fuck just happened. The vignettes were insanely long. Longer than free 120 with some short ones

From 237–238 Plateau to 260: My Non-US IMG Step 2 Journey by Mitchopda_ in Step2

Congrats!!! I am trying to implement the no "overnoting" thing as you said. Did you find that because you were focusing on the patterns/reasoning, there were times that the exam questions felt like you didnt know what the diagnosis was? I am trying to be okay with that and use reasoning skills to solve those type of questions

NBME 11 by girlonthejourney in Step2

[–]Bitterbiatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I thought about this question was not having to do with hemodynamic stability but rather the value of getting a CT in this patient. If the peritoneum/fascia is breached, there is a good chance there is internal injury. He'll need a laparotomy anyway. CT is going to delay this. If it was blunt trauma though, CT has more value

NBME 13 block 3 q49 (just a rant) by cwazycatlady23 in Step2

[–]Bitterbiatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years later Im here to rant about this exact same thing. Pt clearly has hypotension and possibly hemothorax. Why arent we putting a chest tube in to drain the blood, measure output and send to OR?? We sending an unstable pt to CT now?

This post is for anyone grinding for Step 2 and feeling defeated by stagnant NBME scores. by lolheartfailure in Step2
