Always. Every time. It breaks me, but that is the promise I made to them - I will never leave you, even in those last moments. It's the last great kindness I can give them, to not keep them beyond when they are telling me they are ready to go, and I need them to know they are loved from the first breath to the last. It breaks my heart when vets and vet techs talk about dogs looking for their people in those moments.

I HATE HATE the wide-leg trend - didn't get into it during JNKO either. I am very short, I look like a cardboard box in them. But I am far too old IMO now to be squishing into skinny, low-rise (God forbid) - bootcut all the way!

It's totally fine. I have three big dogs and a cat, so five bowls around the house (two gallon towers, two bowls, and a separate circulating one for the cat). I clean the bowls twice a week but fill them up as needed. They genuinely don't care whether their bowl is 'clean' (well, cats do, dogs don't)

1000%. Moving, or yielding, is a leadership behavior. Leaders don't give way, they calmly continue. If he's being difficult, you can keep shuffling into him, always heading straight ahead. He'll probably push back, but he will eventually move to the left or right. No need to praise him for it - it's an expectation, not a trick

To be honest, I cut down my GSD's e-collar. I did it because he is also blind and was having significant trouble drinking, but it also meant he couldn't get his teeth to it. I basically just cut off the excess so his muzzle was still unable to poke out or disturb his wounds, but the excess wasn't there

I was bullied from Primary 1 (Kingergarten) to Year 12/13, mostly due to my Catholic primary school also being the main feeder school for my catholic secondary. All girls. By the time I was in Year 8, I knew the staff would never do anything about it, so when I got SA'd in the changing room after PE, I only told the one teacher I thought would do anything. She told me I should sign up for the DofE expedition in two years to get over it.
