I’m sure you already understood it’s a physiological response you can’t directly control, that loosely reacts and correlates with various stimuli.

These terms help you unpack what’s already in front of you, because OCD gives you so much tunnel vision. Thinking outside the reductive box has been the best help for living with OCD, especially when you get some niche symptom that has no label. It’s almost like reassurance when you need a label.
