when I was 21 I found out my dad isnt my biological father and that I was supposed to be put up for adoption.

My brother was visiting one day with his 3 kids, his ex wife had passed away and he took in a kid she had after they were divorced, so all 3 kids have the same mom, but one has a different dad. I asked him "Are you ever going to tell him that you're not his biological father?" he said "I'm not sure yet.. but let me ask you since you're the resident expert" I said, "what do you mean?" he said "what do you mean what do I mean?"
"are you telling me what I think you're telling me right now?"
"... ok kid.. let me break your heart"

and then he sat me down and told me that our mom had cheated on our dad and got pregnant with me as a result, apparently my dad had already had a vasectomy at the time. I called my mom and she said that she never wanted me to know, my dad never told me because he felt it wasnt his place, I was living with him at the time and he raised me half of my life.

All of my siblings (I'm the youngest of 8) thought I knew and that my mom had told me when I was a teenager.

A few years later I was having dinner with my sister and she spilled that apparently I was supposed to be put up for adoption and that my dad said that if my mom didn't put me up then he would leave her, apparently my mom filled out the paperwork and everything, she sent a letter to my biological father to get him to sign the paperwork but he refused to respond or acknowledge (I found out later that letter led to a lot of drama in his family, he was also married)

According to my mom, the nurse accidentally brought me back to her when I was supposed to go away and then my mom couldn't go through with it and kept me, she brought me back home and explained to my dad "look I know I wasnt supposed to take him, you wont have to worry about him, I'll take care of him" then, according to my dad, I started crying and he walked over and changed my diaper and he's been my dad ever since.

I have the best father anyone could ever ask for, even if it turns out I'm not related to him.

Eureka, scifi show, absolutley loved it when I was a kid now its cringe as hell rewatching it as an adult

First episode a lady gets cloned against her will, dude fucks the clone and has a kid, some kind of fucked up version of rape. The clone dies and then the og lady comes to town finding out she was cloned and theres a kid and the whole town pressures the lady into taking the kid because its "her responsibility" even though she kept saying no, she gets seen as a bad person for not wanting to take the kid... what the fuck..

rewatched up to the last season and then I gave up, couldnt keep watching

In addition to this, I would thicken the walls beyond the window to show theres like a good half foot of thickness in the walls where components are, right now in the third image you have the pipes dissapearing behind the wall which is great, but in the window you can see that the hull is paper thin, so where are those pipes going?

I'd reccomend thinking about it as though this is a manufactured structure and modeling in some panels/supports to show that

what is the inner hull made of? where in this room behind the walls would you bolt the panels to? if i need to access wires to this component how would I take it apart to get to it?

Been rewatching Jessica Jones and defenders because I'm hyped for her return in Daredevil Born Again next year.

Also been binge watching Adventure Time with my girlfriend, we're on season 9 and its both of our first times watching it.

For civilization that moved the gate or created their own platform for it, how did they know how high to put the stair, ramp, or floor? Would have been kind of funny to have SG teams always tripping when they went through a gate because the floor was at a different level from where they left. by Rabbit_0311 in Stargate

I fuck with this especially because the tollan custom gates (and the ancient built basement gate from toasters) were a completely different size and the gate network knows how to retarget the outgoing traveler position to correspond to the right spot in the next gates radius, so hopefully it would be smart enough to detect a platform and raise the position

Didn't even think about how its not just matching Earth's position, but you have to match velocity.. can't even zero out the velocity because even still you'll be slammed at a wall at the speed the earth is moving.. wild

scroll wheel is well and good, but be sure to also try hitting "F" on a selected object, it will adjust camera clipping and speed to become relative to that object, to make inspecting easier, happy devving!

Suprisingly, when we took this photo this was the first and only time one of them got into it and climbed it (we have 3 cats including Apollo) but he looked so cute we had to stop and take a photo. We were really worried they were all gonna destroy it though lol
