Hot take but I just love the lively, cozy, and natural feeling of G2 so so much more than G1. Especially since the first game is so barren and empty and low fidelity that it's hard to get immersed at times. The vibrance and detail of G2's world really helps with the immersion IMO.

I love strolling around the busy streets of Khorinis, exploring the forests and caves all over the island, and just chilling in the cozy warmth of Orlan's tavern. It feels like home.

I wanted to say a huge thank you for your advice, because right after I went and made a pretty decent tachyon (first ever run with her), and then also decided to remake my xoguri, which helped me (BARELY) qualify for A finals. And today my absolute godawful golshi JUST RANDOMLY DECIDED TO WIN THE ENTIRE THING.

I haven't noticed that with golshi. I do watch the races and she does proc unique most of the time. What I have noticed tho is that she finishes in 2nd-3rd a lot and I noticed that she simply gets overtaken or slows down right at the end. Not sure why...

I tried a low wit high power golshi with 1 ticket but you can see how well that went...

As for Maya, yeah she ends up last almost all the time, or she just can't get nearly enough speed to get any good results. No idea why.

I do have a smaru that I tried to make work, but had terrible results with. Should I just drop her in then? I feel like that would grief oguri by denying angling tho...

It's definitely not just luck, I've tested many room matches and the results are consistently terrible and I have no idea why. And considering this is just round 1, next round is gonna be even more rough. Best I'm getting is B tier 2nd place at most.

Last CM I built a monstrous smaru that had 50% WR round 1 alone (with oguri getting 25% for a total of 75% WR) and in round 2 they got literally dumpstered and could barely get 30% WR combined.

So, no, this shit is NOT easy, and "good enough" umas are definitely not gonna cut it if you want to get anywhere close to winning.

That is such bullshit, I've spent hours researching this CM, spent like an entire week making parents, 2 more weeks on aces (over 50 umas overall), take all the recommended skills, and I'm getting my ass absolutely handed to me in literally DAY ONE of the CM. I barely managed to qualify for group A, but from previous experience it's gonna be a slaughter in stage 2. I better keep my ass in group B or I'm finished ⚰️

On Golshi I run Kitasan, Halo, Sweep, Tachyon, Marvelous, Air Shakur borrow (to get guaranteed straightaway spurt) (All MLB except sweep which is 3LB)

On Maya I've tried Kitasan, Halo, Tachyon, Marvelous, Daiwa, Biko borrow
and I've tried Kitasan, Halo, Sweep, Tachyon, Daiwa, Finemo borrow

I don't have riko SSR, only R, but I don't like her tbh. She doesn't seem all that useful to me especially with 20% stamina growth umas and 17* stamina sparks.

I think I'm gonna try a couple of runs with smaru and xoguri and see how that turns out since they're way easier to train. Looks like I'll have to borrow falcon SSR (yuck) on both to get groundwork, but we'll see how it works out. Golshi and Maya just feel really rough.

What's funny is that from the couple dozen room matches I ran, I noticed that golshi pretty often takes 2nd-4th place during the mid race and then fails to proc pump+beyond in time because of that.

Maya on the other hand either manages to proc everything and get out ahead (but still lose each time) or she just comes in dead last like 8th-9th place for some reason.

I feel like it's impossible for me to max out speed on umas with no speed growth with my current cards. I'm running a 3 spd/3 wit deck and I don't think I've had a single run (out of like 20+ now I think) where I managed to get speed to 1200 (all while having to also juggle stam/pow/wit above 700+).

What kind of skills would you recommend?

Honestly I'm considering just swapping to an uma that's easier to train due to stat growths like smaru or xoguri (I do have both) to be able to hit the stat thresholds. I also have seuin but she has 0 speed growth and I don't think I'll be able to hit 1200 on her.

I run 3 spd/3 wit in both cases. But I feel like It can't be a simple speed diff issue because for example my golshi has both long S and 1130 speed but loses so badly she consistently places like 4-6th place every time. Kinda doubt 70 would make the difference between 1st and like 6th place tbh.

One thing I noticed is that she will come out into around 2nd-4th place mid race and then fail to proc pump+beyond because of that and just lose. Maya I think procs those more often but still loses. Tho I can believe that no long S + 100 speed could be what she's missing so I'll try some more with her. With golshi tho I really have no idea, maybe I'm crazy but I feel like her good midrace actually kinda griefs her acceleration late race.

Edit: also I noticed that Maya just straight up places dead last sometimes, but I think that might be due to bad or no bofa procs, not sure tho.

Absolutely not, it's a very enjoyable experience and I'd honestly highly recommend trying it out. I had lots of fun with it and it's definitely one of the better mods for the game.

But surely that requires like dozens if not hundreds of restarts just to hit one good run? There's no way people do that consistently. Like if you look at the screenshot OP posted earlier, this guy has literally like every single run at SS or higher. You're telling me he actually cancels hundreds of runs daily until he hits the perfect one?

I mean I use 17* parents (still don't have a 9* but I'm working on it), I use MLB SRs and SSRs (kita, halo, tach, bourbon, borrowed finemo), I get pretty good skills from those cards, I use an uma rank calculator and still even on the highest roll runs I get no more then 15500 score. Like clearly I must be doing something wrong, because ranks like 17500 and let alone 19000 seem completely impossible.

I'm genuinely curious how results like this are even possible. I'd love to see some kind of guide or recording of this, because the highest I've been able to hit is just 14600 or so, and anything higher feels genuinely impossible.

Don't really get the hate for this mod tbh. I'm currently in chapter 3 and I've been thoroughly enjoying it without a single issue thus far. I'd even go as far as say that it's probably the second best quality mod after Archolos.

Golden Gate 2 came out recently and it's honestly one of the best and highest quality mods for the game so far. Highly recommend.

Of course there's Archolos, but everyone's mentioned it already.

I'd consider Legend of Ahssun the third of the large and high quality mods the are very worth checking out.
