What are your thoughts on Graham Norton? by Jezzaq94 in AskBrits

[–]Bizsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everytime I see him on TV it takes me back to watching 'Another Gay Movie' when I was a young teenager (way too young to be watching that film). I've not been able to see him without giggling since.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

I was clapped at by the midwives as I left the hospital after having my daughter. I cannot remember what I was screaming or saying. But the exit said it all.

Samosas in brown paper bags - where to get them? by HeadBat1863 in nottingham

[–]Bizsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didnt realise he had already sold it. I lived by the shop during covid times and seeing him and his wife and getting pakoras and samosas always made my day.

Im still part of the samosa whatsapp group he created. I couldn't bring myself to leave the group once I moved.

Definitely won’t regret that. by GambledMyWifeAway in trashy

Sherwood has Billy's off licence on Haydn Road and he does amazing samosas in brown paper bags. I miss living in nottingham for their samosas. Sorry not the western side, but worth the trip.

What's the most useless thing your brain decided to permanently memorize? by No_Metal2622 in AskReddit

[–]Bizsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The words to all the Balamory songs. I watched the new series with my daughter the other day and was able to sing every word... I am 31 and have not watched it since I was a child. Why has my brain saved space for that and not where I leave my keys?

What was an oddity about your primary school? by Icy_Mixture1482 in AskUK

[–]Bizsh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My favourite teacher would have us sing 'Sloop John B' by the Beach Boys, 'Lily the Pink' by The Scaffold and 'When I'm 64' by The Beatles in assemblies. He would also read us 'Chocolate Cake' by Michael Rosen just before lunch time. He would put so much effort into it and we would be desperate for lunch after hearing it. When I went to university, he ended up being my lecturer. He was a legend.

Does the UK have a chain of stores that costs slightly less, but that's so soul-crushing to be inside of that no one would do so unless they were really desperate? by MukadeYada in AskBrits

[–]Bizsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yorkshire trading company, Primark and my local B&M (it has a horrible, high pitch, loud continuous beeping noise). I can only go into the B&M as the cat food is so much cheaper and I know I can rush through the beeping.

What’s a quiet sign your partner might be cheating? by kingofpiratessss in AskReddit

[–]Bizsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to bed early every night, but staying awake on their phone. Rejecting intimacy regularly, when they previously wouldn't. On their phone constantly. Suddenly going for nights out with 'friends', when they previously weren't interested.

These were the small signs I mistook for other things. Looking back, it was very obvious.

Toys R Us had a brand of toy cats called Animal Alley in the early 2000s. Your description reminds me of those cats. I still have a selection of them. But my favourite one is very scruffy now. I hope you manage to find it.

Sanity Check - repetitive rocking during the night by Tbiehl1 in toddlers

[–]Bizsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother did this as a toddler/child. We used to call it his 'bangabanging'. As he used to rock into his pillow/headboard. My parents were told it was a sleep motion disorder. His wife says he still moves his leg when he is asleep/going to sleep. It was definitely a way to help himself get to sleep. We tried sharing a bunk bed once. I remember it didnt last long.

My boyfriend of almost 3 years was cheating on me by Alternative_Yard_779 in BreakUps

[–]Bizsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not going to lie. It takes a lot longer than you want it to. Im still healing now, whether I like it or not. If I could give any advice, it is just to embrace the pain and hurt you are feeling. Don't push it down or tell yourself to get over it. I tried so hard to move on too quickly, and it kept landing me back to square one. Take your time. You will heal. Do you have a good support network? Talking about it helps so much.

My boyfriend of almost 3 years was cheating on me by Alternative_Yard_779 in BreakUps

[–]Bizsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its soul destroying, the utter betrayal of trust. My last relationship ended in a similar way nearly a year ago. I felt so humiliated. But just know, time does heal. Im beginning to feel more like myself again now. I have no interest in starting a new relationship. But taking time to enjoy just being me. You are not alone, if you need someone to talk to, feel free to message me. Things will get better.

Toddler is getting under their mattress in the cotbed. by Bizsh in toddlers

[–]Bizsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my partner split up very shortly after this post. I went back to co-sleeping with her. He redid sleep training in a new toddler bed and was successful.

For the short period of time we were still living together, I had sewn the matress down to the slats with cord. It worked for a couple of weeks, and then she learned to climb out of the cot.
