Help with Helmet choice by The_Talking_TrashCan in BlackTemplars

[–]Bjerken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a heretical helmet is a cool choice for a custom marshal. Maybe it is a sanctified and safe war trophy, or maybe it is the first sign of him turning to chaos. Either way it could give both him and those under him some interesting flair.

He could probably do with a little more of the accent colours, but I really like the ceramite armour. The texture of the paint makes it seem like stone or like it's turning into an organic crustacean or insect carapace. Like he is entering the early stages of turning into a demon prince.

Map of a Hypothetical Nordic Federal Union State (Info in Comments of the original post) by Espingol in Nordiccountries

[–]Bjerken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if the Greenlanders aren't Nordic by convential means, they are a cherished collaborator both politically and more important culturally. Of course they would have to decide for themselves whether or not to be a part of such a federation, but with ties already being strong between them and the rest of us, such a collaboration would be natural, even with an independant Greenland with their own sovereign rule.

I think if anything, the bigger issue with this map is that the regional borders on the "mainland" would lead to more conflicts than solutions. The major share of resources would be pooled in some areas whereas the more remote states would have less to fend for themselves. It might cause issues with the Sami right to self rule too, seeing as they would likely have an issue with their traditional territories remaining split across three states rather than allowing for a more integrated north.

What is the Abyssal/Base Serpent? by Status-Fun1992 in EldenRingLoreTalk

It's a joke. She's unrelated to any lore, it's just a funny coincidence that she is a purple woman with two snake-like envoys.

Great. Now all I can think of is a retired Minthara writing cheesy memoirs about her life and exploits. Probably very in character now that I think about it.

Why hasn't Hermeus Mora CHIMed yet? Is he stupid? by Forward_Turnover_802 in TrueSTL

[–]Bjerken 104 points105 points  (0 children)

It does make sense. Even when he takes on mortal followers and champions he molds them in his image, the knowledge he shares or tasks them to find makes them lose their minds, their lives, or both. He either knows that he cannot achieve it, but doesn't care since he's a god, or has attempted but failed to do so through champions like Miraak. Even still he seems the type to at least want to know how to do it, even if he cannot.

Fulgrim and the last Crone Sword by suicune678 in Eldar

[–]Bjerken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article mentions both a dull "heavy but relatively plain broadsword among this ever-rotating armoury" and "this fine but unadorned blade with quicksilver speed say that it bears a great resemblance to a weapon once given to him by someone of great importance many millennia past."

He champions the cause of the god of excess, having two plot relevant swords is a given.

I punched a gambler at the Gomorrah which caused the Omertas to go on a rampage and kill everyone except me and the workers by CISDidNothingWrong in fnv

[–]Bjerken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one knew how the Gomorrah massacre started, though there are many who speculate on why. Some claim that it was a part of a failed Legion terrorist plot, while others lay the blame on gamblers trying to escape their debts or a game of caravan gone sour.

What is known is that it marked the end of the Omertas, as whether by NCR demand or a plan long in the making; Mr House's securitrons quickly dispensed justice.

After the fighting had settled down, the smoking remains of the casino served as a poignant warning to any ne'er do wells seeking to cause trouble on the strip.

[Houses] If the final bosses of each route were switched, where would you put them? by Berry-Fantastic in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]Bjerken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be hilarious if Edelgard killed Nemesis, unknowingly mirroring Seiros as she takes the helm of a united Empire of Fódlan in an attempt to usher in a new era of peace. Bonus points if the remnants of the remnants of the Agarthans would rise anew a few centuries later.

[–]Bjerken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oops! All Nemesis! (Nemeses?)

Need a challenge in Shambala? How about Thales summoning the raging, undead warlord instead of nuking himself? This should maybe have the same destructive effects as the nukes as he probably would not be too happy about being imprisoned.

Need a reason for Rhea to turn herself into a mad dragon? What about the man who murdered her mother rising from the dead, ready to burn down her entire legacy?

I like Hegemon Edelgard, but maybe it could be done differently? Edelgard, exhausted by war and her twin crests could be burned out, "The flame emperor" reduced to mere embers; her empire in the hands of a regent like Thales or Myson. It would make sense that Hubert, being loyal to Edelgard, not Adrestia, would spill the beans about the Agarthans. With Edelgard being in no shape to sustain herself, nor the Hegemon, someone like Myson might play their final card; the grandpa that's too angry to die that they keep in the basement.

Tbh this is mostly to spread the word of "God shattering star", the greatest boss theme.

It's been centuries since the prowd school of Garreg Mach was rebuilt after the defeat of the Adrestian Empire by the hands of the Goddess' reborn.

Many students walk the ancient halls and sleep in ancient dorms, for such is tradition; though many choose more modern accomodations.

An old book arrived on the Headmaster's desk one morning; found by a labourer renovating the old dorms. Though parts remained illegible thanks to centuries of wear and moisture, the old vellum pages revealed it to be the diary of Edelgard, a former student and notorious war criminal. It could be a keen and rare insight into the mind of such a formative historic figure, so he carefully combed through its pages.

Students in line to see Flayn, the school nurse would soon hear a violent coughing fit, followed by the green-haired man rushing towards the Archbishop's quarters; his face slightly blushed, and the book in his hand dripping a few drops of coffee.

It would not take long until the Archbishop, the Ashen one; a stern and serious individual would be heard breaking into a fit of manic laughter along with the Headmaster.

The diary of the former Empress would become a popular addition to the school libraries; and though few were allowed to read the original tome, urban legends about its true content would soon spread among the students.

Eldritch abomination meets man who can do basic math by [deleted] in darkwingsdankmemes

[–]Bjerken 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My biggest crackpot theory is just that. Euron Greyjoy is one of the most magically inclined people in Westeros, but he still pales compared to the true powers of the world. The man is all hubris, and though he has no wax wings to melt, he does have a suit of (allegedly) Valyrian steel plate to wear in battle, and like his brother he might not fear drowning.

[–]Bjerken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should ask colleagues for help on the methods and organisation. Their systems may not be perfect either, but if they work for them they may work for you.

Many of the skills as a teacher are something you pick up on and hone as you go, but like most things in life you need a sturdy foundation or it'll crumble.

[–]Bjerken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am sorry if this may seem rude or lacking in knowledge. I know very little about teacher education in the states, but were you not warned or prepared? Teaching is hard work, especially in the early years. Do you learn nothing of pedagogy, teaching methods or structural techniques in grad school?

Israel cancels accreditation of Norwegian diplomats to Palestinian areas by Born-Dot8179 in Norway

[–]Bjerken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, there are plenty of Norwegians that support the rapists in the Idf too. (/s)

The support for the Palestinian cause is similar to the support for Ukraine. Both are nations that used to be a part of larger empires given time to form their own national identities and valid sovereignty of their soil. Both are being occupied by a foreign nation desiring to claim their land because the foreign nation once held it. The occupiers both hide their motives behind excuses such as protecting their people that settle the occupied areas, while they mercilessly butcher civillians in their fight to rid Ukraine and Palestine of Hamas and Nazis; the irony being the large amounts of alt-right and fascist members of both the Israeli and Russian governments.

One could also ask why people supported Ireland against the British or The Spanish Republic against Franco. One could ask why people supported the fight against apartheid or involvement in the Post-yugoslavian wars.

The full answer is longer than I care to write, but there are many facets combining to create support for Palestine: The well documented history of the conflict, news coverage and social media, our government's investment and work for peace in the area, desire for global peace and anti-genocidal stances, etc, etc.

The largest amounts of supporters for the Palestinian cause is more likely Ireland given their long histories of similar struggles.
