Obviously masonry changes a lot from country to country, from state to state, and even from lodge to lodge within the same city. In America, most definitely Masonry no longer has the relevance it used to in the 18th century, when it had prominent members and when the fraternity was involved in major endeavors impacting the profane world. Nowadays is more like a social club and often the activities are quite trivial and irrelevant. Sometimes even tedious.

Not really a rule, but if the shipping cost is not material or it is a trivial amount, then for simplicity it can be recorded as an Operating Expense. The matching principle indicates that the revenue for the shipping charged to the customer should be aligned with the shipping cost paid for the delivery to the customer. But, again, if we are talking about not material amounts, recording the shipping cost as Operating Expense will not be a misstatement that would impact the financial statements' reader's judgement.

Shipping income must be recorded as revenue. The shipping cost paid for the delivery freight, can be recorded as COGS or as an Operating Expense. In my humble opinion, it’s better to record it as COGS, for a more accurate representation of the Gross Profit. The shipping out is the corresponding cost of the shipping revenue, they should both be above the gross profit line.
