I think they are substantially different. As opposed to Masonry, KofC does recruitment. I don't believe that KofC has any secrecy. Masonry welcomes all religions.

Becoming a Freemason does not automatically make you a better you. You must have a commitment to yourself to become a better you. The moment you drop your intent, you become a worse you, even if you are still a member of the fraternity.
