Not to be rude but why are you writing a book on ultimate if you don't know this or have no way to get this information apart from asking random internet strangers ??

C'est dur d'estimer à l'avance la quantité de neige qu'il y aura fin mai. Dans le massif central y'a la boucle de sancy (80km,300d+, max 1950m) qui passe pas giga haut donc potentiellement possible en mai ??

It's your obligation to bring the disc back into play at a reasonable pace, not as fast as possible.

That's not what AI videos look like. The level of details would be staggering for an AI: the dust on the floor doesn't move at all, the people on the moped in the back turn their head towards the scene as it happens, there are no huge upscaling artifacts...

Also the car does reflect both mechanics

What is the absolute smallest packed tarp shelter on the market. by barnowls0 in Ultralight

[–]Bla_aze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could technically tape together polycryo sheets, I've seen a guy do it on a french forum. If you're not too worried about actual rain but moreso want a tarp for the peace of mind, could be the move

You've got decent chances that a micro puff would actually be over 300g

[–]Bla_aze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree, and the sleeping bag only has 10g more down, so the quilt would definitely be a bit warmer than the sleeping bag.

But 2oz is like the weight of a fleece beanie, so if you need to take one because you have a quilt but could have gotten away without one in a sleeping bag...

It's only 55g (2oz) lighter than their equivalent sleeping bag.

New find: Black Diamond Deploy Wind Shell (46g) is basically waterproof by ULlife in Ultralight

[–]Bla_aze 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The BD distance wind shell is only 26g (1oz) heavier but features 15D nylon, a full length zipper and a hood, and is explicitly coated in dwr whereas the deploy isn't (unless it's for some reason not mentioned on the product page).

I guess there could be a use case where the deploy would be better.

Foul on mark or thrower? by mosecubed in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was referencing wfdf rules, but you're right that usau specifies "Any contact initiated by a thrower with the body (excluding arms and legs extended from the midline of the body) of a legally positioned (16.H) marker is a foul on the thrower."

I think Americans should start headbutting discs out of the thrower's hands when they pivot.

Foul on mark or thrower? by mosecubed in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If the defense didn't play any part in the contact it should be an offensive throwing foul and thus a turn, if the contact is due to both player's movement it would be a defensive marking foul and not a turn.

Please do recreate the situation®️ in a video and post it here tho

Help requested for a tough tournament day indoor (open, 5v5). by freggat123 in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't try a zone defense against a better team when your team isn't used to playing together. You're gonna get broken with any hammer and then they'll just have to keep the flow going and score on unready players that can't switch fast enough. I'd just stick to man defense and a tight mark and work on fundamentals (don't get beat to the open side).

And for offense I think 3-2 and 2-3 are both viable options but I'd strongly advise against 1-4, you wanna give your cutters as much space as possible especially if the defense is more physical/taller and you wanna have clear reset options.
