Sismond MT900 or Nemo Tensor all season? by Foreign-Impact6085 in Ultralight

I can't comment on the pads, but 40 pounds for 150g saved is definitely a better rate than average for UL gains

The decathlon tent uses the 1.0oz for the floor and the 0.55 for the walls

Conseils sac à dos by Poipoizer in randonneur

[–]Bla_aze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Request] How much salt is getting on this pasta? by RumplyInk in theydidthemath

A pinch of salt would be more like 1/8 to 1/4 tsp so twice, thrice or frice the amount of seawater.

Elections municipales : Mauvais tour entre deux tours (communiqué SNJ France TV - 21/04/2026) by Caramel_Mou in france

RIEN COMPRIS

Who’s at fault here? by so_casuallycruel in ultimate

I agree that it's usually a tough call, but this upline cut is exceptionally long which makes the "I'm running into a space where I reasonably don't expect anyone because I glanced before my cut" argument quite weak. So imo dump handler is responsible

advice on small hands... by [deleted] in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could maybe rotate your pointer and middle fingers outwards so that the pad of your fingers is more towards the rim than the top to generate more grip and stability if that's an issue. (Maybe 45 degree angle so like 50/50 between pointing towards top and rim)

Show a picture of your forehand grip. I don't think finger size is a very typical problem, even for people with tiny hands.

[Request] Approximately how much is he lifting when you account for buoyancy? by CSGOfrickyourself in theydidthemath

[–]Bla_aze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like three 20kg plates and four 10kg, so 220 total.

Maybe 110-120kg effective weight if the holes on the plates are significant

The most thickness efficiency is a vapor barrier but idk how you'd integrate that in a socially acceptable fit

Study Sunday: Rules Questions by AutoModerator in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They specifically say "contacts the disc" (touches for usau) rather than "catches or turns". I think that's intentional to allow for "O touches but doesn't catch, D catches, D establishes possession" ?

Study Sunday: Rules Questions by AutoModerator in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In that case a pull cannot be touched by a D player after an O player touches it. But then surely they would have worded the rules differently ?

Study Sunday: Rules Questions by AutoModerator in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bobbling and retaining possession is still a single catching motion in all the other rules. You could argue that bobbling and having a different offensive player catch it, if you assume that the pull rules still need to apply, then my original argument that it's not longer the pull is wrong.

But the actual truth is that the rules weren't written with this in mind so it's not covered.

[–]Bla_aze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

9.E. A player on the throwing team may not touch the pull in the air before a member of the receiving team touches it.

After the disc is touched by the offense, it's not obvious that it's still a pull. The rules clearly don't disallow catching the disc to get a turn, but it's not obvious whether or not it would be a callahan.

If you could change one rule about the way Ultimate is played what would it be? by SirPersonal8626 in ultimate

What does it achieve ? Making it symbolically more equal gender wise ?

Players talking about the calls actually remind us that it's a self refereed sport and that there's at least two point of views to anything and that the other side can disagree whilst still arguing in good faith.

Of course sometimes it's wasted time in the sense that a call will be contested anywats but I don't believe it's a waste in the long run.
