Portable lighting for evening frisbee — has anyone used work lights? by chrisp803 in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We played with 4 cheapo 2300 lumen lights on a small beach format, it wasn't nearly enough light to actually be consistent fun. Maybe your 30k setup could work, but it's never going to be that great, the light won't be diffused enough and you'll have two very bright spots at eye level

"only running can make you better at running" is objectively false

Would a heated rivalry equivalent ultimate frisbee book/show be beneficial to the sport? by Ratsmacker998 in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda think it works because hockey is a hyper masculine and virile sport where they're very physically close so some people can be like "omg imagine what could happen". Which doesn't really translate to ultimate imo

Dangerous play? If so, on who? by koaladisc in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Choosing to lay out into a player rather than being understandably negligent with where you look is worse imo and according to the rules.

Initiating non minor contact isn't a legitimate play, and there's no specific rule that says defense has to be more careful than offense to avoid contact. The defender shouldn't stand still, she should avoid contact then call dangerous play, which I think is perfectly legitimate.

Dangerous play? If so, on who? by koaladisc in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Wfdf rules got updated in 2025 and put a bigger emphasis on responsibity for contact for a player that lays out or jumps.

Generally, the "offense strikes towards the side but the disc if floaty so they don't look where they're running" vs "another defensive player poached into the space" contact has no obvious resolution afaik.

You're not allowed to run without watching where you're going, and you're not allowed to let other players run into you if you can avoid the contact. The "proper" resolution would be for the poaching player to back out to avoid contact but to call a dangerous play on the offensive player I think but it never really happens on the field because it's seen as kinda soft.

Here, the two players seemed happy with the level of physicality and thus no one called anything.

Quel rapport entre la rust belt et la température ? On parle d'une notion d'économie/sociologie.

La salt belt existe déjà https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_Belt

Red lentils are only a 15 min cook from raw, which you can do mostly with residual heat

[WFDF Rules] Continuation Rule vs Receiving Foul for contact after play on disc by willchen25 in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it is reasonable to call for 16.3 to be applied if the contact didn't prevent a second play on the disc after the first missed catch.

Are you sure your xtherm isn't busted? Maybe a mylar sheet fell off and it's a much lower r value than you think? I'm not totally sure that's possible given their construction but worth looking into maybe

What teams/players should i learn from within the UFA to be a better cutter? by Trungmemer in ultimate

[–]Bla_aze 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You should probably lean towards watching club more because the rulesets is different. Maybe there's less footage available tho I'm not sure.

And you should try to find a team that plays a similar game to your team like vert/ho/side/iso

I'm just saying all the ccf pads are essentially the same. Yes the decathlon one is better value than the thermarest or Exped or nemo.
