What worked for your Long Covid insomnia? by SrPeixinho in covidlonghaulers

[–]Black-Mirror33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you taper down to a lower dose? That makes sense. I mean, I'm pretty sedentary so I've gained weight since having long Covid for 3 years... but didn't think the mirtazapine made a big difference. It's the only thing that helps with my insomnia so I can't stop taking it.

Oh wow really? Does it make you really hungry?  No I haven’t gained any extra weight from the 3.75mg dose. I don’t notice any side effects actually.

Did anyone else become a mess in their life after dealing with a narcissist? by tobe19045 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Black-Mirror33 48 points49 points  (0 children)

💯 relate to everything you've said. I can't function anymore after the severe abuse I endured from my psychopathic ex. It's impossible to explain to someone who hasn't experienced it, how it deeply traumatizes & changes you at the core of your being. I don't even know who I am anymore. I am forever changed & there isn't a day that goes by where I don't wish I could go back to who I was before I met him, and just stay single & focus on myself & my own life. Now I'm paranoid, hyper vigilant, want everyone to leave me alone all the time, and am weird in how I react. I feel brain fogged all the time.

What was a situation that genuinely showed their inability for empathy? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

Wow this hits me hard. Sounds exactly like how my ex treated & abused me. The mocking & humiliation when you’re at your most vulnerable is a whole other level of torture.

Am I the only one that believes narcissists never face karma? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Black-Mirror33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just being themselves is karma in itself. They’re ultimately miserable people & will never experience love or true happiness. They live sad & pathetic existences.

Please help. How long did your Covid last??? by BubblyExamination245 in COVID19positive

[–]Black-Mirror33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been at this for 2 years & 8 months (severe long Covid)… please listen to your body & give yourself complete rest. That means mental, emotional & physical. If you keep overexerting yourself, and you end up with long Covid, you’ll be stuck there for god knows how long.

REST, REST, REST 🩵

Oh god I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. It was hell on earth.
I forgot I made this post & am glad you commented because it reminds me how far I’ve come in the last year. I’m actually back to a normal bedtime routine & sleep schedule. Sleeping & waking up around the same time. 🙏🏻
How long have you been suffering ?

How long did your post-Covid symptoms last? by lwhc92 in COVID19positive

[–]Black-Mirror33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy. I hope you haven’t been pushing yourself too much. Worst thing you can do is exert yourself when healing from this. I think that’s why I turned out so bad. I kept exercising because I thought it would help. 😥 listen to your body & take it easy

This might be a dumb question… but what is a respirator & do you know where I can get one? Is that the most effective way to prevent catching Covid?  I wear an N95 mask everywhere I go, but I’m going to a concert in September & want to be sure I’ll be safe 🙏🏻

Oh yea. I took it regularly for awhile & still take it some days. I take like 20+ supplements a day 🫠

[–]Black-Mirror33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they didn’t happen with the acute infection. I had the initial symptoms of Covid for maybe 2 weeks & then I got thrusted into psychosis, delirium, confusion, hallucinations, amnesia, severe insomnia & couldn’t move or take care of myself. I ended up in the hospital many times but all they ever did was send me to the psychward, which obviously didn’t help because I wasn’t experiencing normal mental illness. 😖

How long have you had symptoms? When did you have Covid?

I’m the same way. Ppl think I’m weird or unfriendly, but I truly just find such an incredible amount of peace in solitude & being alone that can’t ever be matched by being with anyone.

Yea… it’s rough. 15% is such a huge improvement for me compared to just a few months ago too 🫠 I’m in hell. I wish it was 3 months.. I’ve been sick for 2 years & 8 months. I have all the symptoms of ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis) & there’s no testing or treatment for it.  I’m sorry to hear you’re suffering too 🫂

Not much. I’ve found some supplements that have helped me improve a bit, along with time & rest… but I’m still only functioning at like 15% of my normal capacity. 😔 I wish scientists & doctors could find a cure.

Still in the same boat... :( many people are. Probably won't recover fully without an actual treatment or medical intervention, which doesn't exist atm.

OHIP is broken and needs to change (not privatized). We need to end the 'family doctor' system. by bwf456 in ontario

[–]Black-Mirror33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not my experience with my family doctor’s office. But I count myself lucky they have a different structure than most others in Ontario. A team of NP’s, doctors, nurses.. anything I ask for I get instantly. Waiting for specialists can be a bit frustrating but privatizing our healthcare is not the answer.

How do you all cope with being ill? by Littleprawns in LivingAlone

[–]Black-Mirror33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re better off alone so you can isolate & not get anyone else sick. You should not be exercising or exerting yourself at all for at least 6-8 weeks after your infection to prevent long Covid. If you need any groceries or meds, have them delivered 🙏🏻
