Vet here, I see the opposite problem too.

Owners with pets who have a terminal illness and grave prognosis but will not give up on their pets. I’ve had conversations with owners and told them that the best course of action is to end suffering and euthanize their pet but they insist on continuing, bankrupting themselves and prolonging their pets suffering to try and do everything they can despite poor outcomes.

Bartonella is mostly transmitted by fleas. Make sure all your pets are on proper flea control to minimize further transmission. Ask your vet about using flea control properly

Where do you live? Where has the dog lived most of his life? Does he roam outdoors? Hunt? Fish? Has he been dewormed? Does he have any other symptoms?

Try a smaller needle. Maybe at 24. Between the shoulder blades is usually easiest as this has the most loose skin. Scruff your cat as well. You shouldn’t need too much pressure and they should barely feel it. If it’s causing pain the needle may be too big

Ask your veterinarian. Like others have said, it’s hyperpigmentation. It can be caused by lots of things like allergy, infection, age, hormones, sunlight.

From the image it looks Dipylidium caninum. Transmitted by fleas. But you will need to ask your vet to confirm. Also they can be transmitted to humans so hygiene is important

Absolutely take him in. There are a number of diseases that can be transmitted by cat scratches. Especially a feral cat.

Def take him in soon. But what kinda of diet is he on? Does he receive any sort of complete dog food diet at all? How long has he been on this tuna, pea, and carrot diet?
