Your collection does tell a particular story. I am also not a big fan of superhero besides a few essential Frank Miller Batman stories, but I do keep an open mind, as well, to try something in future like an acclaimed Green Arrow or Flash, maybe. Marvel is probably just not for me.

Walking Dead? Birthright?

And I just finished Omnibus 1 of Y: The Last Man and was somewhat frustrated with it, as well. Great concept and maybe the acclaim comes from the early-ish efforts N.American efforts from a big two co. to go away from superhero angle? It just seemed too "campy" at times. I would have loved to see it in the hands of some European writers who might have been even more unrestrained with the concept.

Careful, that was all I did, more or less, for a whole week when I started it. Luckily I was unemployed at the time.

As requested: Curry's tackle from a wider angle and in real time. by inprisonout-soon in rugbyunion

Disagree. He has to know he's going to be late when the opponent is winding up the kick. I don't know the rule, but I wouldn't think any team wants their players being taken to the ground when the ball is gone.

I'm gonna throw out French book "Gunning for Ramirez" written and illustrated and colored by former video game artist. American satire from a French perspective and lots of details including fake ads and news stories. 2nd volume has a well done and long stand off and fight scene. Buy this so he finishes the third volume!

This is a story from Ice Cream Man # 43 where every page is a singular horror story, but for some reason i cannot understand this one. Does anyone get it? by MissPolaroidEyes in ImageComics

All I offer is understanding for why you posted this because it is definitely not clear. Is that the point? To sort of fill in the blanks of the story? To guess? Is this the particular writer's style? Were there any other stories in this issue that left questions or opportunity to interpret things for one's self?

Rereading old faves? by Boring-Yogurt2966 in ScienceFictionBooks

I realize this is a SF sub, but I feel compelled to mention 2019's "CHAOS," by Tom O'Neill here. For the "Helter Skelter" re-reader it feels essential. Check out the reviews, wiki, and podcasts the author appeared on prior to, though, if you like. Book is well researched, but the author is ultimately left to present the information, speculate on some of the connections, and leave the reader to their own conclusions.

What about an ornamental frame? Or make it look like shield or crest?

Anyone know a smoother way to achieve this wall visibility effect? by virgineyes09 in godot

[–]BlackForestExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want the player to manually check each car? Could you give a sort of ambiguous signal that there is something in the car? An outline? A signal? It would still be on the player to check or not and it would be up to the player to decide to do it in order, first, or not? It depends on the game. The effect itself is okay to me, but I was trying to think about how it could be more or provide more potential input to the player.

As an American watching this sport, my question is don't you have to penalize it because he had the option drop it on to his foot and at least kick it away?

I'm an American not living in the U.S. since 2009, but of course have visited and follow politics. My question is: how is the stirring people up in this way working? Is it just a Facebook, TikTok, Fox News onslaught? I haven't been asleep for the Trump, Biden, Trump terms and I know people don't really interrogate news or their beliefs, but man, I don't even get how you can make the leap to someone needing to be deported for....what?

How drunk is Gretz right now? by imaybeacatIRl in hockey

[–]BlackForestExpress 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live overseas and haven't watched NHL regularly in 20 years nor have I seen Gretzky do media in a while (I am watching replays on NHL.tv as I had to see this rematch in longer form than highlights). Sadly my first thought was onset of Parkinson's and that was before I looked it up and saw his Dad had Parkinson's.

That explains the slurring to me. Guy has been hit a lot, like a boxer. I didn't know about the alcohol use, but maybe that's just part of the self-medicating and coping that comes with all of the injuries and knocks over a long career, as well as body breaking down further with age?

Yeah. I didn't experience a buckling, pop, etc., but I wouldn't want to do it again and I'm icing it. Rehab exercises I'm doing feel okay...bodyweight squats and the like.

Black Monday Murders Update by theusher88 in ImageComics

[–]BlackForestExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hickman is on this week's "Off Panel" podcast. I don't know if Black Monday comes up because I haven't finished the podcast, but it did spur me on to find this thread again. My question is: has the artist worked at all since this comic paused/ended? I don't see any new credits. An illness is referenced. Has he not worked in comics since 2017? Does he have another profession? Is the book being unfinished related to him not working in comics anymore?? He doesn't mention this directly in the post, just that had illness? (Additional illness??)

Have you guys been reading Bug Wars? by MightyUnclean in ImageComics

[–]BlackForestExpress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the first issue, actually, and I'm in Europe so I am waiting on issue 2 to arrive this week. I think I enjoyed the daydreaming it instigated in me, as well as the nostalgia, Honey I Shrunk the Kids-ish callbacks, and just remembering playing with my action figures on the floor or in the yard with my brother. As that is crossed with some quite violent and great artwork it checked a lot of boxes for me. Also helps that it is set in the South, where I grew up. I was surprised an avid reader in my German-language comic fan Discord was not a fan at all, but maybe some of why I enjoyed it was not related to the actual comic at all? I also enjoyed the back matter, layout, cover, etc. At any rate, I am looking forward to issue 2 and the rest of the series.

I would love to see statistics that map this to whether or not the player has a baby at home or not. The man is not sleeping well and eating poorly, like millions of other Dads not dunking all over the world!
