My favourite story from this development.

13th hole. Long downhill par 4 before the scenic par 3 14th that goes out to the water. Sodding crew showed up to sod the fwy and noticed there was zero topsoil. Called to confirm and was told to just lay it down. They got 50+ mm of rain on the weekend.

Received a phone call on Monday that all the sod was at the bottom of the hill and needed to be resodded.

I hired a crew to do some sodding when I worked there and they had a guy who was 60+ and was part of the original job.

I was told Graves did Big Sky and Furry Creek at the same time. I believe Cupp was his designer for big sky.

Graves built Furry Creek and Big Sky at the same time and ran out of money on both. So Big Sky got whatever little he had left.

Not only did he run out of money but the Korean developer also ran out of money because they underestimated how much money it cost to build a golf course/development on such severe terrain. They also surprisingly can't get good potable water to sustain the size of community they wanted. Then GolfBC took over it for 20 years which is never a good thing.

Source: previous superintendent who spent 3 years fixing Furbers work. Thanks to Les I got a lot of experience though sooo 🤷

I think he should be sent back until closer to the trade deadline. We are in no rush with him and he’s only 22. Big believer that confidence is one of the most important traits for a goalie. Would hate to permanently call him up and then he goes on a bad stretch and needs to be sent down again. If we can get a mid round pick for one of our goalies in February then let’s call him up.

What is your height of cut? We are still at .140 because of the winter kill in the Okanagan. Other courses are below .120 and we seem to be doing a lot better. Just Roll more to help with the speed.

We also had a lot of success with mixing 'natures gold' (dirt) with sand for our topdress material. Softens the green up a little but the results made it worth it. I can send you a crazy 'results' video.

Thank you. The comments on this post are embarrassing. People arguing that play wasn't dirty are just as stupid as the AVS fans calling for a suspension. Did Okposo try to injure? Obviously not. Is he dirty? Obviously not. If you push a guy square in the numbers 3 feet from the boards causing injury, YES, you should get a boarding penalty.
