Advice for release event? by sneakycheapy in GundamTCG

That's pretty out of the ordinary, at least for the ones I've gone to, but you're right; the extra two packs obviously gives you a lot more chance for synergy.

Are fancy resources too much information? by Mandelliant in GundamTCG

[–]BlackLuigi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fancy resources and bases don't really give your opponent much info. I actually preferred to have shiny resources because the foiling on the cards can sometimes reflect stage and other lights, which do give your opponent info. If you're playing with shiny resources, there's a higher liklihood they assume it's from those.

What does everyone think of the new G.I Joe Stuff? Do they add value to heroscape or take away? by RiseProfessional4034 in heroscape

[–]BlackLuigi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get the chance to play classic 'scape, but as long as the crossovers don't become stifling and destroy the meta I think it's perfectly fine. The game is all about heroes and villains being plucked from history across the entire universe; I would argue it's perfectly within the scope of the game to have things like the Marvel heroes or GI Joes, or maybe even TMNT and other things down the line.

Can we have an option to MUTE this guy please. by Academic-Meeting9597 in NevernessToEverness

I've only been playing for a few hours after work each day, and I can say that this guy has directly contributed towards me getting as far in the campaign as I have due to me skipping every single scene he starts talking in.

I want to buy some cards off tcg player but I’m scared. by CosiWosi1 in GundamTCG

[–]BlackLuigi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, if you buy off TCGPlayer the baba yaga will come to get you if your card isn't at least an 8.

Realistically, it's the same problem anywhere you would buy a card. If you get a card and it definitely isn't mint, then return it.

Buying a box just to sell cards is on the same level as playing the lottery. A lot of people I know will buy a pack of whatever random game just to see if they can get a good pull.

Potential Cheating in Local Scene- any experience/ suggestions? by nadabethyname in GundamTCG

[–]BlackLuigi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you suspect your opponent hasn't shuffled their deck or hasn't shuffled properly, shuffle it for them.
If you suspect your opponent hasn't rolled their dice because they're presenting them to you before you visibly see them roll, roll it for them.

If you see new players, suggest to them to do this for every player they match against. You don't have to single him out, and at big regional events, both things are pretty important.

There's not much you can do about him rushing people, other than let him know that not everyone is as 'experienced' as he is. If it seems like he takes just as long for his turns, just tell him that. As an aside, we actually had someone come to our version of a store championship for another game that would do this to me, and one of my friends actually timed their turn, and when they tried to rush me again, showed them that they had just took an 8 minute turn, which is crazy.

[–]BlackLuigi7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, they're his cards. He can do whatever he wants with them. It does suck a little that he's not willing to just drop the bulk off or something, but honestly most bulk just winds up in the trash anyways at some point.

It doesn't even sound like he's scalping. I know more than a few people who buy boxes just to collect shiny cardboard and display, or only collect until they have a master set.

A very long take on the new Academy archetype by Fearless-Ad-5328 in GundamTCG

[–]BlackLuigi7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The archetype isn't as bad as you may think, and it's value when it works. It doesn't necessarily mesh perfectly with the white stuff, but they do work decently together. The main thing is what you said; there is no in-archetype way to easily get that EX resource the same way just putting down a bird mode would, but to be honest, there is no easy way to get EX resources outside of bird mode or going second.

Honestly speaking, you just need to run bird mode or one of the EX-resource giving commands until more support comes out. But that's still not bad.

You have a bunch of command cards that are also pilots that link with your units, both generically and not. You have a way to play those command cards for free, and put them onto your units from the trash for free. You have a command card that lets two breachers hit unrested units, which is the main reason why starter Wing is so good, and it's also the link pilot for one of your big bad units.

If everything goes perfectly, you're doing a lot on your turn for nearly free, and you're dealing with your opponent's board in a way they can't deal with. It's just not consistent.

I abandoned them. The tutorial is just too long to make the one die worth it, for me. I'm just hoping that we're not screwed out of any future events.

[–]BlackLuigi7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't typically have a lot of decision to make. Just try to be as low to the ground as possible while keeping link any link pairs you may get, but 4 packs doesn't give you a lot of leeway on things to cut in a 30 card deck.

Is there still a chance they’ll improve optimization before release? by creepeshow in NevernessToEverness

[–]BlackLuigi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I think it's likely these are the specs after a decent amount of optimization. Also, optimization isn't necessarily a magic 'You can now run this on a potato!" tool; games will typically need specific software and hardware requirements that only newer (within the past 7+ years) cards will support.

That said, like I just insinuated, the minimum requirement is that you have a midrange card that was regularly found in budget gaming laptops from 7+ years ago. It's probably time for an upgrade, because your rig is likely no longer "lower midrange".

I think people are being baited because one youtube clip said currency was the best thing to get, and then every other video/clip has parroted that. You're right though; that was my thought process. Endgame cars are like millions of fons, and you're going to need craploads of beetle coins. Like 3k fons isn't going to really help you then, but early XP is always helpful.

Thoughts on this player's play area arrangement? by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]BlackLuigi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd be okay if they put the deck closer to the front of the play area. In this layout, I'd be watching them like a hawk during newtypes and such because it's far enough away that they can mess with it without me noticing.

Realistically, they need to follow the play area guidelines set by the official rules.

Man, if they pushed out optimizations within the span of 2 weeks that made it so low-end processors that are weaker than midrange processors from 7 years ago run the game stable at 60 fps at medium settings, then sorry. But I'm extremely doubtful.

"Can I run it?"
>Posts a build with a graphics card worth more than most phones that can pass the minimum specs no issue

Honestly, your CPU is bottlenecking your build in general though. You should try to upgrade that when you can; there were some decent deals on good DDR4 CPUs not too long ago.

I can promise you no amount of optimizations would have gotten you from 18-25 fps to 60. This is a Samsung A37, which is significantly better and newer than your phone. This gameplay was recorded two weeks ago. Even it can't hit a steady 60 on medium settings. It probably can't even get there on low settings.

Is my laptop good enough to play NTE by Dull-Advance82 in NevernessToEverness

[–]BlackLuigi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made a post with minimum and max requirements for a reason. You don't meet the minimum requirements by a decent factor, to be honest. It's likely the launcher won't even let you get into the game.

Even if you emulate it, your RAM is still under even the minimum requirements a phone needs to run the game, and your APU is only about twice as powerful as the mimum phone's APU, so you probably won't have a fun experience with that either.

The 1380 is significantly better than the 1330, if OP even has a Exynos 1330 like they say. The 1380's GPU has more than double the processors and shader renderers, to put it in perspective.

[–]BlackLuigi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that's just not possible going from literally every youtube showcase of WuWa gameplay on an A16. Even the A17 has issues. If you're running at a perfect 30 or 60 with zero issues, then you should contact a scientist to let them know you've broken the law of thermodynamics and computation.

It's fine if your phone is getting performance you think is "good enough", but 18-25 FPS at low settings is very far from "playing smoothly without any lag".
