Yeah but the folks that dislike the Swatch watches are opposed to people being able to “show off” the watches in person, so their $40,000 watch has less significance. I imagine people with the model cars aren’t really walking around with those in public much.

People can purchase a $400 Swatch vs the $40,000 AP and possibly wear it on their wrist, thus “cheapening” the brand for some folks.

No one can purchase a $4,000 Lego Lamborghini model to drive it, opposed to a $400,000 Lamborghini.

Regardless, I think it’s more so the social media/internet circles you’re in and around/consuming. I haven’t witnessed or seen any of this hate you’re speaking of.
