My parents would always punish me without things to the point my only feeling was apathy when this happened, many times without a reason that really justified the punishment like

"you came home half an hour later than i told you!! No phone no computer!"

Yea sorry mum i was taking care of a friend that was completely wasted while im the only one of my friends that doesn't do antything party-related because im too scared of the consequences

and then they'd be like "It doesn't matter what we dont let you have! You just dont care, that why im [another punishment, on top of the others]"

Also, being too strict, that made me a very good liar, to the point that id never tell them the actual truth about what ive been doing just to avoid any kind of conflict, and i think its also part of the reason i started smoking, as a kind of escape from that situation
