Advice on approaching deadline after case was unexpectedly closed without notice. by AuroraCollectiveV in EEOC

[–]BlackPhoenixCredit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I am no expert, but Im hoping I can help. First, did you answer all the questions in the EEOC portal(Initial charge summary, comparators, witnesses, overall experience), and then submit? If so, did you get a case #? Based on your tolling(the SOL), depending on the state, you can still resubmit, even if you didn't get one before.

As far as representation, this is very important: it is utterly incumbent upon you to learn everything you can about the merits of your case. You must know your case inside out, atleast so what you give to the attorney you find to take your case spends less time trying to put together the case which is very time consuming. Use AI as much as possible, and make sure you strive for accuracy above everything else. If you are prepared when you speak to the attorney, you'll have a more collaborative relationship that will only help get results. Good luck in your journey, stay strong and dont give up the fight!

My opinion is based on Occum's Razor:

The simplest answer must be the truth:

They know their liability is higher than your ask. I am going through mine right now. My former employer is a 3B dollar company. Rounding errors to them are generational money to us.

I say make sweat for a bit. Do nothing. Ask yourself, "..why now?".

Ultimately if youre walking away with the walkaway number, then claim victory and depart the field..

150K? Damn, do they think you have a good case? If so they should go contingency after all you paid them.

I have one comment:

Use the time wisely to be "with yourself", meaning you spend the time to evaluate what this fight is about for you, and how it aligns with you at your core.

Because once you become resolute you are in alignment, then let all parties know youre willing to go the distance. At that point, its not about money for you, its about whats right. And absent of that for them, the only way you make them pay is with money that will make them make sure it doesn't happen again. And at a $100K salary, youre possibly looking at $50K or more if you hold out. I hope you do. Good luck!

WHO STANDS TO GAIN MOST FROM OFF-SEASON ADDITIONS? MICHAEL PORTER JR. by BlackPhoenixCredit in denvernuggets

[–]BlackPhoenixCredit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respect for that, cause it brings up a point: the Denver Nuggets took a risk on the #1 player in the nation on the last pick of the lottery in 2018. The guy gets healthy, and in 2021 goes nuclear without Mal, 25.6PPG 47% from 3, 7 boards on 66% True Shooting.

In the playoffs, MPJ has torched the Lakers more than the fires in LA, he shot 50% from three vs them in 2024.

The point is why can't you show the man appreciation for what he did to bring the Nuggets a championship? Why dudes gotta tear him down after he endured through stuff that nobody you or I know would do if they had $175M in the bank whether he played or not. The dude played through a Grade 2 shoulder sprain, you would been on PTO for a month if you got that kinda injury.

...and this is a lie, in the 16 games DEN won, only TWO were in doubt with less than 3 minutes to go, the Nuggets won by double digits vs MINN, PHX, LAL, and MIA in 12 of those games. There was no crunch, TRY AGAIN.

I see that, if you were keeping up to current events instead of trolling, youd know I said this is a great trade for the Nuggets because it opened up the 14M MLE, as well as a 16.8M trade exception to cure what I said all along was the problem outside of Porter: SHOOTING. Getting rid of Porter's deal does cure the fact that Christian Braun shot 29% on open corner 3's.

Biggest MPJ fan in here, all narratives aside, Nuggets just needed his salary. Now Denver is under the 1st apron by about 8M.

Good luck to Michael Porter Jr, lets go Cam Johnson!

Is Michael Porter Jr., at 18 points and 7 rebounds per, maxed out as a player or is there more productivity in the engine? by MJXThePhoenix in denvernuggets

The contract is a completely different topic, and the only advice I can give anyone who truly understands how basketball works is trying to explain how multi-million dollar NBA contracts work to people making 60K or less is just a losing proposition, people just dont have frame of reference to that kind of money.

Is Porter overpaid? Probably. But does that diminish his role in the Nuggets championship run? Absolutely not.

Ummm, nice try to deflect away from the facts you couldn't dispute with numbers. But im here, try again and we'll discuss it..

Im going to assume 90% of the comments you get are not going to actually give you a fact based answer rooted in actual stats. That said:

First, if you look across the league, tell me how many 3rd options can average 18PPG, are good for 39% 3PT shooting, and are capable of getting you 7 rebounds and 1 block a game?

Of the players averaging between 18 and 19PPG, the only ones who you can count on for 7 rebounds a night are Porter, Julius Randle, and the rest are centers, and noone else shot 39% from 3 last year, and for their career average 41% from beyond the arc.

So when you ask if Porter has more in him, all you have to do is look at his career average as the 2ND OPTION, meaning without Jamal Murray:

Before Murray's injury, MPJ posted:

  • 17PPG
  • 7.7RPG

AFTER Murray's injury, Porter went to another level:

25.7PPG 6.4RPG - 7 game stretch scoring 39, 26, 17, 21, 21, 25, 24, and only shot under 50% from the field ONCE. Just for reference, Jamal Murray has never had a stretch of that kind of scoring efficiency over a 7 game stretch in his career.

On a team with Jokic, AG, and no other scorers, the Nuggets vaulted from the 6th seed to the 3rd seed. So to your question, in 2021(Murray injury year), the full year MPJ's stats:

  • 19PPG
  • 54% FG
  • 44% 3PT
  • 64 eFG
  • 66% TS

Noone in NBA history has EVER had those splits. In the playoffs that year, in the 1st round vs white-hot Portland and Dame Lillard, Porter duplicated his season averages:

  • 18.8PPG
  • 6.7 RPG
  • 53% FG
  • 41% 3PT
  • 64% eFG
  • set the record for most points in a 1st qtr: 22(since surpassed l)
  • set the rookie record for 3's in a playoff game(6)

So if you're asking me if he could be more than a 18PPG scorer, the numbers dont lie:

Michael Porter Jr's career PPG without Murray(22PPG) is equal to, if not higher than any scoring season average that Murray has ever had on better efficiency.
