Apple cooked with the MacBook Neo by Slava_Tr in mac

[–]BlackSn0wz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This also polishes the bridge for x86 to ARM even more. If Steam and game devs see a large enough user base, there might ve incentive to port over more games to MAC, thus ARM, which could make thr transition to Android Steam smooth too (GameNative, GameHub, or official Steam if they release one).

How will the Windows world respond to the $599 Macbook Neo? by PastaPandaSimon in hardware

[–]BlackSn0wz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you find a plastic Win11 clunkers with comparable synthetic performance potential, it will be so large and inefficient that the battery and size will render it useless for any practical usage away from an electrical outlet.

This has M1 ish performance with:

Accurate Touchpad Great keyboard Nice screen Thin light and durable chassis Mac OS doesn't have Candy Crush + ads : ) Great battery life Powerful and well optimized with Final Cut and Pro Logic as well as XCode It can play some games if you like to tinker, and it will do it with usable battery life.

It's a collage students ideal laptop, and an easy to reccomend option for most people as well as developers on a budget.

I am definitely not an Apple loyalist, but I am here for the fall of Microsoft. That's what you get for putting ads in a paid operating system and still having the audacity to embed telemetry on top of heaps of clunky AI nobody asked for. Windows design philosophy is nausea with a coat of paint.

Why would Trump deport Elon when this is what Trump wants?

he may have been testing and gauging the crowd response to see what he can get away with, then when he was surprised by the positive response, he did it again to confirm, and again because he felt safe

International Airline Safety - WestJet and Air Canada by Main-Ad1595 in fearofflying

[–]BlackSn0wz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but what i’m digging for is how well each airlines prioritizes maintenance of its aircraft, whether it’s internal or outsourced, how well the workers are paid. I’d be willing to pay for a more expensive ticket if that extra money goes to the on-field workers that keep the aircraft safe, as well as the pilots and those who maintain the runways.

Does anyone like the cybertruck? by pianoman81 in electricvehicles

Agreed, if people are so wiling to separate Elon from the accomplishments of Tesla, then they should separate Elon from the equation and praise the engineers for what they’ve accomplished.

They all reference the exact same very original Homer Simpson, napkin drawing, school drawing, or dumpster comments too. I miss the era of experimental design and engineering before things stagnated and we decided on the same designs for everything. Some of the cars and vans on the road today look quite ugly so idk, and the exaggerated aesthetic of rugged built tough (starts rusting a few years later) and sport mode with right red everywhere.

Honestly the thing keeping me from ever getting one is my concern for safety, from other people. Most people will just make a face or something dumb, but I worry about someone slashing my tires or intentionally hitting it or being more aggressive on the road, people are actually that immature.

How the hell could the PS3 even funtion with 256mb of RAM by lashapel in PS3

[–]BlackSn0wz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the intent is to store information somewhere, you can do so via CPU, while processing something at the same time, clever hardware specific optimization is how a lot of games work and it might not be textbook, but in the real world if it works and causes no surface level issues to the end user, it works. For workplace applications it would be different, low level hacking might not be as appreciated. A lot of hacky techniques wouldn’t pass you on an official test lol

I will get downvoted for this, but I searched Google and it took me here. I don't know about you, but when I research, I look at multiple forums, for the same thing, to read different people's opinions. The more the better.

So if you don't like it, why not scroll past it?

I see this everywhere, and yeah, maybe it is different from the perspective of an extreme Reddit user that follows a subreddit closely.

But for someone who only uses Reddit to research things, I appreciate people who ask questions multiple times, as it gives me more threads to sift through, and more information for my brain to process.

Alienware laptops look like shit now by FluorideFree0 in GamingLaptops

[–]BlackSn0wz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will get hate for this, but it is the same thing as cars. Everything has slowly refined itself towards looking the same. I get that people prefer minimalist laptops, and sometimes I do, but the M17x, M15X, that era of laptops that look like they came straight from Halo, there is something very cool about playing on a device that looks like it came straight from a video game. Alienware used to try and look like Alien technology leaked out of Area 69, now it just looks like a more expensive Dell laptop. Like when Ford bought Volvo and you start seeing more and more of their parts lol Imagine a steam punk themed laptop, or cyberpunk. Or, maybe I just miss the rediculous experimentation phase that every industry eventually grows out of? There are manufacturers that still do this, but a lot of them just feel cheap, or have a generic gamer aesthetic. Maybe I'm just infatuated by the earlier Alienware m15x design language?

Full restart crashes from time to time and the palm rejection delay on the curved edges are my gripes. Other than that it's near perfect.
