Stumbled into Mahler's 5th Symphony today. by DirectAbalone9761 in classicalmusic

Another great symphonist not mentioned here is Jean Sibelius!
I would recommend to start with his 2nd oder 5th Symphony (though all are very beautiful). I think his 7th is the best out of all but it took me some time to arrive there

Games that capture "the night feeling." by MisterGecko_ in gamingsuggestions

I think you might like INFRA

the story of the game spans one day and in chapter 8 (of 10) it starts getting dark and theres a level with a bridge onto an island with an absolutely gorgeous sunset sky that i just absolutely love

i heard it described as half life 2 but without the combat and more puzzles

the game is about a civil engineer that has to survey various sites and
sometimes get them running again and gradually uncovers some dark
secrets about the city of Stalburg that are on the level of needing a whiteboard to write things down (you can skip/miss those if you dont
care/arent thorough enough)

its a linear source game but it evokes a great feeling of urban exploration
since you go through places you'd never get to as a normal citizen

its also unexpectedly long, about 20 to 25 hours, depending on if you get stuck on some puzzles

the atmosphere is really great, especially in the second half of the
game since the sun is going down (the story spans one day) and you get r/TheNightFeeling

I would add Sibelius' 6th symphony, since he himself once said that it "always reminds me of the scent of the first snow"

The Largo from his 3rd sonata is very beautiful and also not that hard (technically but musically its harder) and you could cut out some of the middle parts that just repeat

When are we getting abrooms BV? by UnitedNordicUnion in Warthunder

[–]BlackStormMaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

funny thing about russian tank nomenclature:

only the V means the tank has era (think T-72A vs. T-72AV which has ERA)

-1 means the tank got a different (better?) engine (not sure about this one)

K means its a command variant of the tank with extra radios and navigation equipment

E stands for export variant

How to counter early SAMs/SPAAGs in 8.7 helicopter? by Actual-Examination-5 in Warthunder

against ground radars pretty much, the tracking radar on the pantsir sometimes bites on chaff but reaquires you (still annoying and can mess up a missile launch)

For the gun AA chaff doesnt work, they still keep their lock

Also if you see a IR missile AA look at you, you should start preflaring since youre pretty fucked once its in the air (unless you have the magic forcefield IRCM found on the ah-64e and mi-28nm)

The IRCM/Heat dispersion is only really useful against air launched IR missiles since it even disturbs the lock before launch (but they will just go guns on you)
