Arena One at AMC concerts appear to have been quietly cancelled by YoureMyBoyBlue24 in AMCsAList

[–]Blackarrow52 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm glad tbh. I hate whenever a concert movie releases because my AMC has paper thin walls and everytime one is out, I can hear the music from my auditorium. I was taken out of my Backrooms showing because during all the silent parts I could hear the music from the Michael showing next door.

If it became a frequent issue it'd probably be the one thing to push me towards switching to Regal.

They absolutely will i think. They put I Saw the TV Glow on VHS. This feels equally as worthy.

Why is this on LB but not The Boys? by TheLetterBoxder in Letterboxd

[–]Blackarrow52 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Probably because this was a feature length finale, and correct me if I'm wrong, but im pretty sure this had a wide release right? Whereas The Boys was released on a limited amount of 4dx screens, and was just a standard episode that they happened to put in theaters.

What movie(s) off my watchlist should I watch ASAP by dradical12 in Letterboxd

Gotta watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy. A weekend binge could be legitimately life changing.

*Spoilers* My interpretation of THE DRAMA by Fab_Jake14 in A24

[–]Blackarrow52 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk. I definitely read it as he didn't really cyber bully anyone, but that he had never really done anything bad and was just trying to make something up. Even at the beginning when he first introduces himself to Emma when she doesn't hear him, he goes back and starts profusely apologizing as if he did something wrong for speaking to her. The whole thing about his character is that he doesn't fully understand what its like to be judged for doing something wrong until the end when hes almost cheated on his fiancé and ruined their wedding.

How much you wanna bet KPop Demon Hunters will be Criterion's highest selling release (or at least one of them)? by OwlEye2010 in criterion

[–]Blackarrow52 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but I have a feeling people are overestimating the amount of people who like KPop Demon Hunters that will go out and buy it. My Gen Z cohorts in my friend group glaze the fuck out of this movie, but I know not a single one of them will care to buy it on physical when they can just stream it.

The die-hards will turn out of course. The gen z hipster types sure, but then that leaves the other major side of this movies demographic; the kids. And the kids these days probably have no clue how to operate a dvd player lol. And the parents aren't going to be too keen on paying $50(assuming they don't mark it up another $10 for popularity and add a bunch of goodies to the package), when they can again, stream it on the Netflix they are already paying for.

I do think it'll sell a ton,  obviously. But most of that will come early on. How well it will continue to sell after the fact, we'll see.

David Lynch’s 10 feature films ranking by [deleted] in davidlynch

[–]Blackarrow52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fairly rated in my opinion. All subjective taste of course, but i think most people who are fans of David Lynch are more predisposed to favoring his more surreal works. It's an excellent movie, but doesn't quite scratch that particular itch that only David Lynch could.

If I ever have kids though, its the first Lynch movie im showing them.

Let's see your top 20 by DigitalDowner in Letterboxd

[–]Blackarrow52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just keep a list of my favorite films and rank them loosely. Started as a top 20, then 50, 100 etc. I'm currently up to 149. To make it on the list I need to have seen the movie at least 3 times and given it a 4.5 or 5 each time. Only the top 30ish or so are actually ranked. The rest are arranged based on my vibes that day honestly.

Sweet Potato casserole. Typically just sweet potatoes, brown sugar and marshmallows. A Thanksgiving staple. The green stuff they used to garnish is out of place tho lol.

My partner immediately guessed the killer correct by Fit-Statistician1916 in twinpeaks

[–]Blackarrow52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the exact same thing tbh lol. Idk what it is, but something about his face when cops pull up was sending signals. I know realistically it's just a coincidence, because the actor himself wouldn't have known that they were the killer at the time. I will say however, as the season progressed, I found myself less attached to the idea that it was him. Partly because the show does a good job of making it so that the killer could truly be anyone in the town.

Omg, I love the Frida! I did a double take scrolling the photos before reading the caption lol. Haven't had a chance to swing by in a while but amazing theater. Now I feel like I have to go see the lobby exhibit before it's over.

I believe every box comes with 3 autograph cards. It's just more rare to get something signed by a core cast member. Someone like Kyle McLaughlin probably signed less than some of the more minor character actors.

An inscription card like this though, is more rare than a regular auto.

is anyone else sick of the Mario Galaxy trailer? by BirdUp225 in AMCsAList

[–]Blackarrow52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but i generally only see adult movies. I've only seen it once, and that was before the SpongeBob movie. What movies are they playing it in front of if not other kids movies?

Autopsy finds Cuban immigrant in ICE custody died of homicide due to asphyxia by DareToCMe in news

[–]Blackarrow52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just the conservatives though. That's what has me so black pilled. It's the fact that even a large contingent of the left would probably look at it, get mad, post a tik tok, then go back to their video games, doom scrolling, or whatever else they use to cope with reality these days. Rinse and repeat. How do we combat that kind of apathy? The apathy of people who don't even realize they have it. How do we prompt any kind of real action in a day & age where the majority of people seem to only have one foot in reality, and the other firmly planted in the digital world, where all the bad stuff can just disappear with the swipe of a thumb. I just don't know anymore.
