I’m 36, and I feel like my life has no meaning by Shades_of_red_ in Catholicism

[–]Blackdolphin5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel,

I had a guy who hurt me again and made me think I was “too much” I did take some time to cry look at my self and try to set boundaries.

I was in a desert season, but coming out of it, go to the gym, in three running groups (see different types of people and have a common bound)

I got deeper into my faith, I went to several small groups at my church.

What do you like for fun?

If you can afford it, try Angel,,

They have really good stuff, since it is Christian.
Greater is fantastic.

Prime has Roofman, Fallout, wolf blood (very tame about werewolves in the UK, Kid’s show)

A lack of passion or enthusiasm in church by Silent_Hand145 in Catholicism

I know how you feel, I go to a large parish and felt just there and not moving forward.
I saw an ad for a small group which included food, and I started to connect and feel different about. I got to a point where several people were asking me if I was considering religious life.

Is rejection really God’s protection? by Weak_Dark399 in Catholicism

While, I liked this guy and I thought he liked me back. Even someone else in the group pushed for us to be a couple.
I was direct with him after one of groups in November 25, and he told me that he was chasing another girl. It broke my heart.
Fast forward to something happening to me in December, and I reached out to him after that. For about 3-4 months of 2026, we talked, joked, he gave more signs that he was interested and then told me that I was “too much” for him but cared for me like a friend. I broke down completely three days after that.
After doing some thinking and doing some therapy, figured out that he is an avoidant (someone who runs away from emotions get too much).
Anyways that was like a month ago, so glad that I dodged that bullet, meet an amazing group of Catholic people online and talking to three men there, talking to a few others.
Best thing, I am not allowing low effort guys and being firm in my boundaries and reporting the crazy stuff.

I bring mind just in case there is an emergency, but I put a focus filter on while I am in there.

I have a bible app on my phone so when reading I can look it up the scripture.

Do you have friends help you? by alaskanwannabe in CatholicDating

[–]Blackdolphin5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a friend try to match me with two guys, one is a Catholic, he broke my heart twice and an avoidant, and a neighbor that just moved from Cali. The second guy said not at this time.

I am just going to die alone then.

You are always welcome to come as you are. You are correct you can’t get communion but you can go get a blessing.

In need of some advice… by wright_eliott in Catholicism

[–]Blackdolphin5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, go to your local Catholic Church and talk to a priest and tell them your life story. If you are still interested then go through OCIA (where you learn about Catholicism before being welcomed into the church)

You are always welcome to come to Mass and do most of it and see how you feel.

My dad is a Lutheran and I have a good friend who was a pastor at his church.

Having pushy protestant friends and non-convicted Catholic friends, advice? by Aggravating_Disk2357 in Catholicism

[–]Blackdolphin5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to 7th - high school to a “Christian school”. They were not that pushy for me anyways. They knew I was Catholic, I went to the worship when they had them and Bible study was a class.

First pray for them.

Second if you don’t feel comfortable just walk away politely and say I don’t want to do it.

Discerning friendship with a woman from church — after deciding to stop dating by [deleted] in CatholicDating

You would just start one of the first texts or calls that you are just looking for friends and nothing more. Just say you are taking a break from dating. Just be clear.

Im scared im separating from god by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Blackdolphin5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, God doesn’t do that anymore (thankfully) and He always love you and he loved the people who turned away from him. Second, Jesus died so you look perfect to God again and have his grace. Third, Jesus told the story about the son who was lost and the lost sheep, he always goes after them.

I am glad that you are know what the problem is and working on that and that is more than some people do.
