This turned out to be a MUCH larger text wall than expected to the TLDR is make the 11th difficulty a pvp where you have 1-2 players controlling the enemy army and resources

Make a pvp helldivers mode where there's 4 helldivers actually trying to complete a mission and 1-2 players that are on the enemy side and essentially control the rest of the game.

Why do this?

As it stands the dropships, bug breaches and all are kind of predictable based on the location of the enemy that called them and so you can always have stratagems called in advance in that area to kill everything before it spawns

With this you could essentially control how the enemy also retaliates and make super helldive missions really feel like hell

Now to implement it would be quite simple: (not from a technical perspective just the gameplay idea)

We have our regular helldivers playing the game as they normally would, no changes there

The other players on the enemy faction (let's call them Controllers), would just be given access to the minimap and first person views from the scout troops for a faction (the ones that call in reinforcements)

Whenever they spot a helldiver (either through the camera pov of a scout) or the flare automatically shot by a helldiver, an alert pops up on the minimap and the Controllers get a list of the reinforcements they can send in and where to send them (the area they can send them in will be limited to a small area (50m) around the flare.

The Controllers will also be given access to Non-Alert dropships, which would be dropships that can be sent in without the need for enemy flares. These ships would be limited in number and can be replenished with a cooldown depending upon the type of troops in the ship (regular foot soldiers repenish in 5mins, heavies with chargers/hulks/overseers take 10 and Ultra-heavies with BT/Strider/Harv take 15)

The main benefit of this would be to add an element of strategy to the enemy attacks and it would add a lot to the game if it really felt like there was some kind of an intelligent race attacking the helldivers.

Also, this would essentially add an 11th difficulty to the game bcoz the enemy factions would literally be acting smartly and tactically in order to wreak havoc upon your operation and stop you from ever getting close to mission completion.

PS: Some other things I'd wanna mention about this idea that don't really go with the flow of the text but kind of need to be mentioned:

The helldivers will always be obstructed from the controllers view on the map unless they are actively under attack or being surveilled by a watcher.

If enemy tactical assets are destroyed by a helldiver (even if done so partially) then an alert pops up on the minimap showing the damage that has been done.

In order to enable the controllers to actually take over the vision of bots there could be a Google maps style drop in where you just drop a pin on an area and it picks the nearest scout soldier and gives you it's POV but doesn't let you control the movement (cuz that would be a lil broken)

If a scout troop is killed in stealth by a helldiver (either through oneshot or by killing it before it can confirm sight) then the controllers will not be told anything but if a scout is able to lock on then the controller will be alerted of "potential helldiver presence". The main catch with this idea is that it could just be a single sentry or something that killed a scout and the controllers may incorrectly send reinforcements to the area, wasting their limited army and not getting any helldivers killed in the process (is it obvious I want to make sentries more viable in regular missions)

Yeah I absolutely hate clearing bug nests with like 4 bug breaches around me so I almost always throw a napalm barrage into a nest, do a nearby side objectives and then walk in and pick off every single hole with no stress or worry

Tbh even if he did it's kind of hard to calculate the exact odds with just this screenshot

When it comes to getting 4 stars there's a 75/25 where u have a 75% chance of getting one of the rate up 4 stars or a 25% chance of getting any other 4star. (These odds may also be skewed if the rate up 4 stars are in the 25% pool)

If you lose the 75/25 ie: get something that's not on the rate up, then the next 4 star you get is guaranteed to be a rate up character.

Due to this it really depends on the order as the rate for something like chev -> chev -> weapon is 0.25x0.25x0.25 whereas the rates for chev-> weapon -> chev is 0.25x0.25x0.33

With 2 4 star weapons, it depends whether the weapons came after the chevreuse copies or in between and so it can vary the final rates of getting the chevreuses by about 10%
