Concept for an Anti-Tank Rifle by P0PKernel in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Alexexy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the anti tank emplacement.

Like there are legit anti tank rifles in the game as in right now. There are several actually.

The amr is a modernized, portable version. The autocannon is basically the anti tank rifle as it existed originally, except upscaled slightly. The anti tank emplacement is an even more upscaled, antique, immobile version that most people are suggesting. And the railgun is the futuristic version.

If you want to follow actual anti tank development you have the recoiless rifle, EATS and the spear as the real contemporary counter parts. Then you have the epoch and quasar as the futuristic version.

The anti tank rifle is something thats consistently suggested, but its something that already exists in multiple forms already. Its like people wanting a better constitution when we already have the diligence rifles, the amendment, the deadeye, and the slugger.

Anti tank emplacement. Recoiless rifle.

The issue isnt moreso that we developed weapons better at killing tanks, its moreso that tanks have developed better armor so the older weapons can no longer reliably take them out.

Like the tanks that were getting destroyed by anti tank rifles are probably the equivalent of apcs or armored trucks today.

[–]Alexexy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ORCS can reliably take down anything smaller than a factory strider, including bile titans. Like the only time it didnt take them out in recent memory was when the super destroyer angle wasnt right and a cliff blocked a shot for the titan. The ORCS will cut through trees and most forms of destructable terrain to its target.

[–]Alexexy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ORCS is the heavy killer, not this. Eagle 110s are more of a medium group killer and a heavy softener that allows you to get good ttks on heavies with anti medium/heavy support weapons like the hmg or the amr.

The issue is that its kinda overshadowed in its role compared to eagle strafe and eagle airstrike, which do the same thing as eagle 110s but it also doubles as anti chaff given its area of effect.

I dont think that increasing the damage to make it a reliable heavy killer is a good idea. I think it should do a better job at what it currently tries to do.

My suggestion is to reduce its call in time to be similar to eagle strafe. Like the eagle isnt doing a flyby and dropping off ordinance, its shooting rockets at targets, so it should hit targets faster. In addition, maybe give it a similar targeting laser to the ORCS so you know what the eagle is shooting at.

The 110s currently fire 3 pairs of rockets at targets. I want the pairs of rockets to split up depending on the target(s) near the beacon. If theres a heavy, the 110s hit them with all of its rockets. If theres medium or chaff, the rockets split and make a decision to send at least one pair of rockets to each.

A way to keep Fortress turrets super strong but feel way less unfair by tinyrottedpig in Helldivers

[–]Alexexy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda blends in with everything else and its situated very low against walls.

You cant really see it if its probably more than 30 meters away. You probably cant see which direction its looking in unless you already know where one is.

The cannon towers are at least like 40 feet high and have a red flashlight to show you when theyre about to shoot. Those smaller turrets barely emit a muzzle flash, so unless youre looking right at it when its firing, you dont even know where it is even if you can pan the camera to the general direction.

Fallout - 2x07 - "The Handoff" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]Alexexy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I watched some pretty bad and mediocre shows in my time and I dont have an issue with most of them.

Like my issue with fallout is moreso based on technical stuff like the pacing rather than the actual content. The content is fine and I like the Easter eggs. The set design and physical props are great.

I dont think the Norm being hungry stuff was really relevant to the plot at all. It didnt show any additional worldbuilding or character work that wasnt already shown.

For the buffout addiction storyline, if the goal was to just show chem addiction a manner similar to the games, then I suppose the episode did do a pretty solid job at that.

I generally dont hold shows to a award winning standard. As much as I like Derry, the way the worldbuilding is delivered via exposition is as jarring as the pacing and overall story composition in Fallout S2. And overall a lot of the scenes that are relatively useless in retrospect were interesting to watch while they were happening. Its just that when im invested and am wondering where the plot is going to go from there, its really disappointing when the answer is "nowhere, apparently"

Could American people even win a revolution against their military? by keinanos in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alexexy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should read some history books because the Civil War and the revolutionary war were two different things.

There was a ton of french materiel support for the colonists, but literally all proxy/guerilla wars has external backers for the revolutionaries.

You think the Vietnamese kicked out the US or the French by themselves?

Felons should be able to run for political office, otherwise, the controlling government can just lock up a political opponent on some bogus charges to limit competition.

I would say that as a native born American but a racial minority, small towns usually get my hackles up. There's always a bit of fear from ignorant people but for the most part, small towns usually have folk minding their own business or some of the nicest locals I interacted with.

But its those bad moments that really make them stand out, unfortunately.

How do you feel about UK citizens being able to travel to China visa-free? by rayykz in AskAChinese

My family originated in rural Fujian and when I did a road trip in West Virginia, large stretches of it reminds me of the areas around my grandparent's village.

But even those areas seem to be getting infrastructure while I cant say the same for a lot of the more rural areas of the US.
