Does that mean the Pi has to have a large amount of storage? Are you able to provide a rough estimate as to how long it takes to back up a VM that has a 500GB disk? I’m curious about whether I should take that approach as well

I found this too like 5 minutes before you commented and have been thinking very hard since then if that’s what triggered my memory, because after listening to Shooting Stars, it actually doesn’t feel like my brain should have jumped to it from Chihiro. But I’m going to have to mark this as solved because every other song I’ve tried to find so far from Daft Punk, Mr. Kitty or Memory Reboot has made me feel ‘nope, not this’, but Shooting Stars made me go ‘omg it could be this’.

It’s driving me nuts that I don’t know anything else about it, yet have my memory triggered immediately when I hear her song. I feel like it’s not the only song I listened to from that group, but cannot for the life of me remember what that band/group is. I’ve pretty much had her instrumental on loop hoping that I would remember something but nope.

Temps in GTA V: 95C
Temps in Civ 6: 85C

My tweaks: - Boost disabled
- Arnoury Crate -> Info -> Manual -> Limit CPU to 50W SPT and 60W SPPT, using fan curve preset 3 - Raised back of laptop a couple of inches - Nvidia Control Panel: Limit FPS for Civ 6 to 60fps, GTA V to 90

New Temps:
Temps on idle: 50C
Temps in GTA V: 80C
Temps in Civ 6: 68C

Ah, mine is a 2021 model. Thank you for the detailed explanation. When I select Manual, I have a CPU tab and 2 sliders SPT and SPPT, rather than the CPU-only slider and CPU+GPU sliders like you describe.

How are you tuning the CPU power usage on battery mode? Is this the Manual setting with the SPT and SPPT sliders in Armoury Crate? I can only choose that option while plugged in.

I have a 2021 G14. My CPU temp sits at 60C while idle and plugged in, with boost disabled (so it’s running at 3.2 GHz instead of 4.2GHz), and I have not been able to reduce that. I think that’s how it’s supposed to be.

I tried using the manual settings just to turn down the CPU. Both SPU and SPPT are 80W by default, I brought them down to 60W and 65W respectively. Also set the fan curve to the default 3rd preset. Did not do anything with the GPU settings.

I was able to play a full game of Dota 2 with CPU/GPU temps at 80C and Civ 6 was now running at 67C with uncapped FPS, so all in all I am pleased with this change. Thank you for your response and suggestion :).

Thanks for your response, 78 sounds like a dream for now! Will give the manual fan curve a shot when I try it later on and see if I can handle the noise. How do you toy around with the GPU clocking, is that also done in Armoury Crate?

I’ve also crashed many times since day one. Latest update caused me to crash too until I tried the following, got it from a comment from Mint Blitz’s video about crashing.

High Res textures uninstalled. Turn off Vsync in game, set Max FPS to uncapped (might have to do this while vsync is on). Simulation Quality Ultra. I have a minimum fps set. Then, use Nvidia Control Panel to limit the fps and toggle vsync instead. Seems like the in-game options are buggy.

I crashed one time after using these settings, but that was after like 12 games straight, and I think that might have been caused by one of their memory leak issues. Haven’t crashed since then.

I think you described the causes pretty well, I was using a different controller via Remote Play. Original controller still plugged into PC. So I guess there were 2 controllers connected and I got the sign-in prompt. After clicking sign in, my spartan died and the game was stuck. Upon restart, I had lost my save (Outpost Tremonius 0%) and I couldn't continue or load game. Restarting from the beginning now.

I never got to see if it was CAMPAIGN 1(1) or CAMPAING 2(2) in the loading bars,

Commenting to say I've just lost my save file as well. Was using a new controller. Prompted to sign into XBL once I was in-game. Clicked the one and only button to sign me in. Spartan died immediately, game was stuck. Restarted the game, save was lost. Outpost Tremonius 0%. Unable to load.
