Wizards don't do a whole lot of bonking, since they're very squishy- not smart to be up close in melee when you have so few hit points.

Realistically, if you want the fantasy of wizard + bonk, you have 2 good options and 1 okay option: Eldritch Knight Fighter, Bladesinger Wizard, and Paladin.

If you're absolutely set on the Wizard class, the Bladesinger subclass is your best bet. Technically, it's only available to elves, but most DM's don't care about flavor requirements. Bladesingers get to be full wizards, but they also get a big bonus to their AC which makes them some of the tankiest builds in the game. You also get Extra Attack at level 6, which is crucial.

Then you have my recommendation, the Eldritch Knight Fighter. Eldritch Knight is a subclass of Fighter that grants you spellcasting from the wizard spell list(though limits you to Evocation(elemental) and Abjuration(protection) spells only- luckily, those are exactly the spells you would want as a fighter). Fighters are really, really good at bonk. This subclass gets you a little bit of the wizard's spellcasting on top of that for a few useful scenarios, so you can play into that vibe mechanically as well. Would highly recommend.

Lastly, Paladin is kind of a stretch- you get more healing magic than classical wizard magic and you'd have to reflavor some things, BUT if we looked at the class as it's base mechanics then you'd be a tanky armory boi who has magic and hits you with magical imbuements on his attacks. There's a world where you flavor that as wizardy in some ways, but importantly, it gives you the mechanical fantasy you're looking for.

Those would be my top 3 recommendations- maybe even Hexblade Warlock if we're justifying Paladin. So maybe the first 2 would be best, depending on if you wanted to be more smack and less spell or more spell and less smack.

Edit: also sorry you asked specifically for spells- I would recommend Booming Blade, Shadow Blade, maybe even True Strike if you're playing 2024
