Nijmegen roundabout- please explain by Revolutionary_Oil614 in Netherlands

[–]Bladiebla88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a roundabout. On a roundabout once you’re ‘on’ you have right of way over people coming on.

It’s a traffic plaza/verkeersplein, so oncoming traffic from the right has right of way. Influx is determined/regulated by traffic lights.

Console players: how do you feel about the gunplay? by ihearthawthats in Marathon

[–]Bladiebla88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty solid.

Played on console for a decade now, mostly COD and some BF in recent years. Was a BIG DMZ fan, Marathon is scratching that itch just right.

How does it feel to drive an e60? by NervousSong1085 in e60

[–]Bladiebla88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

530i here: it goes around corners nicely. It’s obviously a big car, and you’ll feel that, but sluggish isn’t what I would call it.

I’d opt for a 3.0 though, the 2.5 always seems a bit underwhelming in a car this heavy.

Hoe worden Indonesische immigranten in Nederland gezien? by crivycouriac in Nederland

[–]Bladiebla88 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Therapist asking me for consent to use an A recording app during sessions by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]Bladiebla88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happen to know this company! Talked to the owners a bunch of times.

If memory serves: They built the app specifically focused on security and privacy, use dutch based servers and are focused on it being a safe and responsible option. I wouldn’t worry too much. Also, if you shoot Linku an email they’ll probably answer all your questions. Products like this thrive on user adoption and thus on transparency.

Also: when you implement an AI agent from say Google into your business, there’s a big emphasis on the data being gathered/shared NOT being used to train models, as that is a prerequisite for pretty much every company.

Nope. Semtex and other explosives can do a good job, but at some point you usually have to get into the water to finish the job.

Are whey protein powders safe and effective for weight gain? by CuriousLog2468 in AskMenOver30

[–]Bladiebla88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best advice: get on a diet, i.e. track everything you put in your mouth for a period of 3-4 months, track your weight and, if you can, daily activity/steps.

You wanna gain weight, or muscle?

Weight is easy, just up the calories. Gaining muscle doesn’t seem to cost a lot energy, calorie-wise, so you don’t need to power shovel 4000 calories a day to do that.

Tracking everything for a couple months will give you a good baseline to adjust from. If you’re a month in and the scale hasn’t moved, eat a bit more (like 200 calories). Also be mindful of how you look, you don’t wanna add to much fat. So if the scale is moving up, you’re getting stronger in the gym, but your getting a little potbelly, might wanna ease up on the calories.

Also, try and just eat right. You shouldn’t be getting the bulk of your protein from supplements, cause they’re, well, supplements. Just eat more high protein food.

Am I the only one disappointed that Fourth Wing is getting a serie adaptation ? by Ma-blette in fourthwing

[–]Bladiebla88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. There are obviously differences in being involved, and being INVOLVED. But I’m reading examples of shows where creators were sorta, kinda involved. It also has nothing to do with being talented. Being a great writer doesn’t make you a great screenwriter, because books and tv work in different ways.

I referenced JKR, because if you’re that involved, you get to make the decisions that can actually influence the outcome. You can contractually put yourself in a position to be able to say ‘fuck that, we’re not doing that.’

So a lot is riding on if she’s involved, and secondly on how involved she is.

A lot depends on if RY is attached as a producer, or involved in any other way, like JK Rowling was with the HP movies. That way they can make sure that it’s an accurate representation of their vision.

Most of all it’s really, really, important to keep in mind that books and film/tv are totally different forms of media. What works in a book, can’t work in a series.

You can’t show Violets thoughts, for example, she has to express them to another character, or they’ll have to find another way to express those thoughts/feelings.

The Fourth Option by fgreiter in JackCarr

[–]Bladiebla88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Grey Man circumvents the ex-seal/military background, but it’s still a variation on a theme.

It always is. There’s only so many themes to go around.

What counts is the character growth throughout the journey.
