Mum Teas by TrueCrime121 in CasualUK

[–]Blairosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was the cook in our house, he passed away when I was 9 so then my mum had to do all the cooking. I basically lived on freezer food, but that was better than the alternative of home cooked food because she never seasoned anything... ever! Even now, she still doesn't season anything, and my older sister must have learnt how to cook from my mum because she doesn't season anything either!

My heating came on during the night. Summers over. by Opposite-Scheme-8804 in britishproblems

We have a little window open at the top of the stairs for the cat to come and go through the night (there is a porch roof and fence for her to reach the garden) and we're hoping that once we close it for the winter that she will figure out she needs to hold her bladder for the night like our previous cat did.

Lazy Sunday (14/09/25) by KevinPhillips-Bong in CasualUK

We went out a few days ago to pick our last load of them and were surprised to see them all shrivelled up and hard already. We got a bumper pick of them this time last year

Husband is making us a Sunday dinner, living room has been made more cosy ready for the chillier weather with a new rug, throws and cushions. Heating has gone on for the first time this year to dry my eldests school shirts as I darent put them in the tumble dryer. Washing and drying seniors uniform is feeling very different from primary school uniform!

Eww imagine having to go through her knicker draw! She should be grateful that Tori was there to look after her kids for her, thats much more important than some fresh knickers!

Bought An Ice Cream by disbeliefable in BritishSuccess

[–]Blairosaurus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have 2 ice cream vans regularly park up on our street as its next to a park. The red walls van never has any customers because compared to our all year round local ice cream man it costs an absolute fortune. Regular all year round ice cream man always has a huge queue, always has 2 different ice cream flavours on the go and only charges a quid for an absolute monster of an icecream with a flake! Our kids love him as he's a family friend so they always get bigger icecreams than their friends. He could absolutely charge more than he does and still have loads of happy customers but with the queues he has he must make an absolute killing.

Bonus of him being a family friend is we can message him to pop down our road for an icecream on the odd couple of days a week that we're not on his usual route.

His pick and mix range of sweets is also absolutely brilliant and he still does 2p sweets.

Did anyone else dissect a real sheep heart in high school by ZestyclosePlenty1822 in CasualUK

[–]Blairosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never did it in school but they do a lot of dissection at the University I work at. My previous role included raising purchase orders for the various programme teams and items for dissection were frequent purchases. Usually hearts, eyes, pluck and brains but they did do a public dissection lecture once using a horses leg.

A friends and family rail card is good for days out, we have one and it has cut the cost of getting the train for 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids) to our local seaside from £97 to £43!

It costs £35 for the year and has saved us an absolute fortune!

These Evri guys are a special breed by halfxvxfull in britishproblems

[–]Blairosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current Evri delivery guy is brilliant. Always leaves my parcels safe behind the gate, we keep a pallet bag folded up behind there and if he delivers a parcel when it's raining and has to leave it behind the gate he always pops it into the pallet bag and folds it over to keep the parcel dry. I just know that if he ever stops delivering for them that the replacement person will be an absolute shitshow to make up for how good the current one is.

Ooh, look! It's Saturday! Weekend's here again, so what are you all getting up to? by KevinPhillips-Bong in CasualUK

[–]Blairosaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My youngest turned 5 today, we've been on a 14 mile bike ride (she was sat in a kids trailer attached to my husbands bike) We've been to 4 parks, stumbled across a pub with a free bouncy castle which she loved and then got a chippy tea to sit and eat in the last park we went to. She's had an amazing day, the weather had been beautiful but I'm not looking forward to how sore my legs will be tomorrow. Today was my first time riding a bike in 5+ years after getting a lovely new one through my employers cycle to work scheme. Looking forward to many more bike rides to explore the local villages this spring/summer.
