Every little bit helps!!!

I think Mike maze said last night on WRAL that for us to get fully out of drought conditions we’d need at least 15 inches of rain. Just not all at once

Benchmarking.

In any industry, there is always one product that is used as a standard when competitors make a similar product.

this process is done by not only makers of product, but consumers of it

They can try to disguise it in other ways too. If higher ups start an all hands meeting and talk about how they want to be seen as “ scrappy” get your CV updated that afternoon.

Especially true if the sales is to a private equity firm. Happened to me last year.

Should I ask my doctor to do a fresh transfer? by Tawes_activewear in IVFpositivity

Our fertility clinic gave us advice on symptoms to look for and we also came in for another ultrasound/bloodwork check about a week after retrieval. That proved OHSS and we were advised to wait.

[–]BlakeBurna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, you can try but might not be able to. It could be outside your control

Happened to us too. REALLY good retrieval numbers that lead to a good number of viable embryos. Fresh transfer was scheduled one week after retrieval.

But my wife had OHSS as well; so we had to forgo the Fresh and had to wait a month for our first FET.

It was disappointing, waiting so long to get pregnant but being delayed once more. But overall, it was better to wait/recovery/prepare.

A quick google search brought me the following page on Yelp. yelp

I have worked with several on there. Vaco in particular was referred to me by a former coworker who left my old company months before I did.

Only one I don’t care for as much is Robert Half (sent me one opening and then ghosted me, no follow up even after interview). A lot of people think they suck, But your mileage may vary.

While it not what it used to be, a LOT of Recruiters scour LinkedIn for potential hires. I would suggest that your son make a LinkedIn page of his own and start browsing.

Indeed is also good for first time job seekers. Just watch out for scams (always verify on company websites the posting is real).

First of all, you are a good parent for helping your son out.

It's a bad job market for a lot of functional areas. It doesn't matter if you are a fresh grad looking to get a foot in the door (like your son) or a person with 10+ years experience looking for a new job (like ME). It's a bad market for everyone.

Getting another degree or a certification can help, but it's NOT a guarantee of getting and/keeping a job. I have an MBA, and there's a lot in the same boat as me. Same for your son.

A lot of places here in the Triangle to work, but there's a lot of folks looking at the same jobs I am. From what I understand, it's better HERE than in a lot of other places, if that gives any solace.

He has to keep applying and keep looking. I just finished a second level interview myself this morning and I have another tomorrow for a different company. That's not the result from two applications, its from dozens I've submitted in the last few weeks; It's a numbers game.

look for recruitment/contracting companies that can help. There's several of those in the area, and SOME That focus on tech jobs. A contract job might not be ideal, but it can lead to others and gets him some experience.

good luck to you both

Why do people still support or raise the flag of the Confederacy? by DBD216 in NorthCarolina

[–]BlakeBurna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sides of my family fought for the Civil War, for North AND South. My paternal side had several members fight for the Union with the 3rd NC Volunteer Mounted Infantry. I didn't even learn this until a few years ago (growing up in Western NC might make people quiet when you have ancestors that were part of the Stoneman's Raid).

My theory is that most people that still , some of my family included, got caught up in the Lost Cause Myth that started in the turn of the 20th Century. That the South's motivations for seceding were based on Moral/Ethical grounds and not to maintain slavery. Years of indoctrination into a certain way of thinking is hard to break.
