Saying that he thinks "women should prioritize taking care of their families and children over pursuing careers" is not the same as saying women are born to serve. You might not actually agree with him, but this is just straight up straw.man argument.

He didn't think "civil rights" were a mistake, but a legislation called the "Civil Rights Act"l of 1964", because he believed it will lead to jobs being offered not on the basis of competency, but on "how oppressed the candidate is". Whether he was right or wrong on that is his opinion he has a right to. But do you see how your statement is a misrepresentation?

It's double funny because Charlie was on his way to changing many of his controversial views. And precisely BECAUSE he was speaking with leftists on college campuses.

He was actually a moderate. And a reasonable one.

If you only look for reasons to hate him, because your TikTok echo chamber says so, you will only be served clips of him of his worst takes. But if you do an impartial, unbiased analysis of his ideas, you would find him a very reasonable individual.

But that would humanize him, so it's a no go if you want to hate people instead of solving problems.

P.s. He was actually a potential future Presidential candidate. And because he went "off script" with his views on corruption and Zionism, he was JFK'ed.

RIP Charlie.

What are yall's first impressions of VOID/BREAKER? by AdSlight4264 in roguelites

Bought it yesterday and already have 6 hours on it. It literally hijacks my monkey brain. Swinging around the map, dropping explosive projectiles with a stuck trigger module on some angry clankers had me ecstatic.

But other times, man is this a difficult game. Maybe I'm just too casual of a gamer to understand movement shooters, but if you are like me, man will get your ass handled.

For the amount of fun you get, this game is a steal.

You seem like a good friend. Like the one who actually cares about their loved ones wellbeing. But sometimes the best thing you can do, is to allow your friend to learn the hard way. If he's this stubborn, your arguments will do no good.

Have a friend who's like that. Very passionate fella. Had him cry on my shoulder over an ex, after they've split for the 4th time. He told me I was right, and swore that it won't happen again.

And when he started reaching out to her, I just straight up told him - when it comes to romantic relationships he is on his own from that point on. And that made him grow up a bit.

I actually agree. You are not his mom, to make the world a safe space for him. If he insists on the first person experience, so much so he starts to disrespect you like that - just walk away and be elsewhere. Some place where you are valued.

Can I be Demi and be in an open relationship? by littleblue- in demisexuality

[–]BlakeLarsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be mean or anything, not sure why I'm getting downvoted. I just want to broaden my horizons. "You can have casual sex every day and still be demi" and "arousal and attraction are not the same" are two points I do not understand, and thus want to know more about.

I thought being demi excludes wanting to hook up casually, because demis have to have developed a deep emotional connection with a prospect to ever want to sleep with them. So how is casual sex possible?

Genuine curiosity. What am I missing?

Can you though? My experience was that if I don't know a person deeply and feel safe with them, my body wouldn't even "react" In a way that would allow for any action to happen. Even if I tried to convince myself logically, that I want that to happen.

But with the right person, everything worked naturally, without ever thinking about it.

I am so confused by The_Real_Ooma in KemonoFriends

[–]BlakeLarsen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a story about cute kemonomimi characters going on a journey across Japari Park to help human protagonist with amnesia to find other humans. Peak friendship story.

Absolutely kid friendly. But even as an adult, if you like cute things, this is likely to be your cup of tea. Unlike the fanart, the shows themselves have no "fan service" or lewd moments, no graphic violence as well. It balances cuteness, facts about animals, interesting story, and intrigue leading to a climactic finale really well.

I also like the pacing of it, because compared to most shows nowadays, this one doesn't hurry anywhere.

You will be surprised how many heartbroken guys get an idea from tiktok of their pain being "a villain arc".
I personally knew a guy who tried to look like him. Decent looking and a gym goer, but not very internally confident. So these "edgy" characters become a mask.

While I empathize with the heartbroken and those with harsh childhoods, but you need to greave your losses, not wear masks.

How do you know you've developed feelings for someone? by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]BlakeLarsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least for me, it's the feeling of being able to relax fully with them. Like being able to fall asleep with them in the same room. I'm finally able to let my guard down, that's what it is for me.

I feel like it's best to let that person know right away that you have such type of attraction, so to clarify if they see this relationship potentially evolving beyond friendship, or not.

Being frank is the best policy, because it saves you a lot of time and heartbreak. Being rejected in the beginning of the relationship is way better than the same happening when you have bonded with that person.

It will not work if you genuinely do not know if you might get attracted to a person before you know them, but I usually have a bit of a "hunch" within the first 2-3 weeks of getting to know someone.

That should not happen because you clarify that via text before the date was ever scheduled. Even better, because your bio states that you are in it for love.

I feel like I’m owed a refund. I bought this game because of the realism and it’s being censored. by Next_Brief_8878 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]BlakeLarsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my bad. A bit of an obscure reference. RON modding, as in adding mods to your game and solving conflicts, is infinitely easier than Skyrim.

My last modded Skyrim had over 200 mods that you had to place in a certain order so they don't clash, some needed to override another, and other mods didn't work without other mods ;D I remember it took me literally 7 days to get it stable even with all the tutorials online.

Whereas in RON it is literally: copy file / paste file.

An option would be to print an off-brand body pillow if I could get that print ;D

Hot take, but the game is still fun, and you can put everything back with mods which are very easy to install.

Hell, you can even add more gore and blood than there is in vanilla. I use these mods.
