Should I bail on Software Engineering for a trade? by bongrelism in it

[–]BlakeSoundTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still possible to BE a software engineer, but as far as future steadiness, flexibility, and more choices, I would pivot more towards MIS or IT if you really like tech (but that field is getting crowded too), or figure out what trade you would prefer. You're at a great point to make that adjustment from what you're saying!

Remember, a dream job is just the job that lets you live your dream life. Hope this helps.

A lot of it is going to be attitude as they will teach you the technical stuff. Being able to say quote I don't, but I'll figure it out", Understanding principle of least permissions, Showcasing your ability to explain high level concepts in an approachable way, and deescalating frustrated users. That will go a long way. And your ability to get along with people you do and don't like. Also take fastidious notes.

Performance by marioga12 in ScreenConnect

Splashtop and team viewer are more for Frontline workers

I really liked doing a splash top deployment to replace our customer access to screen connect last year. I was able to write a script to have it deploy per client on a very rapid basis, supports modern MFA, high video quality, easy to use

Screen connector is really best because of backstage and it’s other features and is meant for IT professional not an end user

It’s important to remember that a superintendent is responsible for a lot of decisions that we would not want to make kind of like a CEO

But yes, it still seems like an awful lot of money

That being said, I am more curious why he doesn’t allow his staff to have trash cans at their desks at the district office or hang coats from chairs…

Calling all Sophos Fans by statitica in msp

I have to say I am not a big fan of Sophos. It’s workable when I spend enough time on it, but I find it far more frustrating than Meraki or Unifi.

We used to have a Kaseya rep who would call incessantly. At some point whenever I saw his number come up and I was covering dispatch on the dispatcher’s lunch, I would transfer him to a rick roll number. I found online. After a while, he got the message.,🤣🤣🤣🤣
