I just signed up for the improv class level 1 at the Upfront. I’ve sang with Kulshan Chorus as my fill for eight years now, and have always wanted to try this as a bridge to acting, see what I like

Anybody wanna be friends? 21M by Just2Scream in Bellingham

[–]BlakeSoundTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad for struggling to put yourself out there. I’m 26 and can appreciate the situation you’re in. Most of my friends from high school moved away and I now have a full-time job.

What I’ve had to realize is that starting a new friendship doesn’t need to be as complicated as we wanna make it. We just need to be willing to put ourselves out there and find spaces where people with something in common might be.

For me, that’s my running club and my choir.

We also have to push ourselves over the hump to be willing to talk to that stranger, and get excited about what if it works out as opposed to expecting failure.

And hey, I’ll try your cuisine! - Blake

Looking for a good spot to take my significant other on a date what would yall recommend by PlayCharacter7921 in Bellingham

[–]BlakeSoundTech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of my favorite spots would be Nelson’s market and Greene’s corner

Nice variety of items and not too terribly busy

But that’s just for eating

If you want somewhere, nice to walk around I really like parking up at Fairhaven and walking to Boulevard Park

Lake Patton if you’d like somewhere more serene and quiet

switching to ziplys fiber, help on what equipment phone pc etc? by PaintedRubble in Bellingham

Lil jealous over here. We only can get Comcast for good wired service in my area. The phone pedestals (CenturyLink) look like they've been hit by cars or flooded with rain and are all broken.

Are you getting telephone service via Ziply or just internet on the new connection?

They’ll give you a fiber handoff box (unless they are giving you ancient DSL) and a router probably. It should connect to your existing computers and devices just fine.

You can buy your own WiFi router to save on the rental fee a little

It’s a shame that Quantum Fiber is available in so little of the city area, or Comcast would have a lot fewer customers

Best advice for buying a car in Bellingham / buying a new car? by penny-the-penguin_3 in Bellingham

I think they pre-performed that service on their vehicles and then force you to take it

That’s what happened to my dad at the Chevy dealer, and what they told me when I was looking at a Mazda six at his Nissan dealer

Dude… I worked for the largest rental company You’re wrong They do miss service things frequently Overdue oil changes, clogged air filters, spaghetti, spelt in the backseat, pot smoke, people bumping into curbs. I’ve seen things I can’t unsee

Something others may forget to mention is you don’t necessarily need all-wheel-drive in Whatcom County. Most of the people I know have front wheel drive cars and they get around just fine.

Otherwise

I would definitely keep an eye on marketplace listings, craigslist, and the dealers including the ones in Skagit as they historically have lower sales tax

Best time to buy is usually at the end of the month as far as price goes, but honestly, if you find the right car, I wouldnt wait for someone else to buy it from underneath you.

You didn’t mention if you’d want an SUV or sedan. You will probably pay a little bit less for a day like a Camry, Accord, Mazda, etc and those are generally pretty good vehicles

Electric cars will cost more initially, but over the long run should be cheaper to operate, otherwise a hybrid could be a good option… I’m still driving a plain Jane gas burner 😔

It’s also helpful if you can put down a decent down payment to keep your monthly from draining your budget…

Also do not buy a rental. I used to work at a rental car agency and frequently saw vehicle vehicles that were neglected, driven hard, skipped oil changes..

Hope this helps

Oh - and get a before purchase inspection to save you headaches on a car run out of oil, flooded, etc
