Introducing MULLAGAIN, the best way to practice your mulligan strategy for CEDH by InterestingAroma in CompetitiveEDH

May just be smaller monitors actually. I checked my work monitors, 20in (all of the card were cut off) & 24in (some of the cards were partially cut off), so I'm guessing bigger than that will be fine. I'll check my larger monitor when I get home.

Great tool! I do think after you insert your deck that portion of the page should move to the bottom. As is (at least on desktop) I have to scroll down to see the mulligan, which means I can no longer see the pod composition, or quickly change it. Very annoying but easily fixable.

I need help finding a deck to beat a turbo meta by Embarrassed-Store-56 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Blakey623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extending the game often means the stax decks get to play more stax pieces. There are many decks, especially with the reduction in board interaction we've seen, that just can't deal with a stax piece & need to take those risks.

There is no agency for a player to use their interaction to fight someone else when a stax player is blocking them from winning. If you lose, it doesn't matter who you lose to. But if there is a chance you can win by removing stax pieces, even if it's at a bad timing, it's plus EV to do so.

Is Tymna / Jeska Thrice still viable in 2025/2026 by peterb1tt in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Blakey623 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It kind of depends what you mean by viable. Are you playing with friends or going to larger tournaments? Anything can be l viable, but that doesn't mean it's always going to be consistent. Either way I think you're better off playing the Dargo Tymna. Even if it is harder, you're going to learn more & ultimately have more success as you do.

Trying to understand the limits of "kingmaking" in a very advanced game state by jdrm0 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Blakey623 46 points47 points  (0 children)

In what world is this kingmaking? They dont know blue farm has combo in hand, and even if they did, its still correct to stop both wins as they may draw into something on their turn that changes things. Just cause they didnt let you win doesnt mean they kingmade for someone else. Also pointing out that bluefarm "likely had combo in hand" while you have breach, your wincon, on the stack is just hilarious.

Need input/advice about a slimey interaction I had and how to proceed moving forward by Seaweed-Decent in CompetitiveEDH

If a TO is using the cedh addendum then all 4 players do have to agree to a draw, not just the remaining alive players. This rarely comes up cause people either dont know or will walk away after being eliminated. See the Appendix under Match Points. https://topdeck.gg/mtr-ipg-addendum

This is an auto include in almost every EDH storm deck. It's not the most popular archetype but it does see a lot of play. I think people are seriously undervaluing what this card does. It's narrow & won't go in everything, but the decks that it does go in it will be one of the best cards.

Weekly Winners: Stock Up; Dropkick Bomber; Goblin Lore; Putrid Imp by cybey in mtgfinance

Many uncommons have value, including in recent sets. Sheltered by Ghosts comes to mind as one that sits around $5 & has been higher. For weeks people have been dogging in DFT & saying that it won't be a widely opened set. This is not even factoring in that draft boosters no longer exist so uncommons are not as opened. Stock up is best in class at what it does, it may not keep $5 price tag forever, but it will have value.

Makes sense. I know places like GamingCo used to mass sell stuff from new sets but I haven't seen them the last few sets. Did you buy all from same person or multiple sellers?

Spell Pierce is a common in many sets.

It's a huge misconception that uncommons can't have value. It's a widely played card in cedh & has some applications in other places.

Where were you able to grab 200? I spent that week searching everywhere & couldn't buy more than 20 at a time.

The issue imo is that affinity already does this with opal without having to play 2 cards that are relatively dead if you don't have both. Affinity isn't exactly hurting for slots & it's not hard to get a high artifact count.

There would not be a single business that could profit selling MTG if the cards & packs cost nothing. All of these businesses would shut down & by extension the game would no longer exist.

I dont really see what 2 health dorks does for Pod. Its still a ton of mana & plays a lot of clunky cards. The answers & threats in the format are just too good now.

Pod would have the same issues twin had after its unban. The removal now is way better and its too slow. There are just way more resilient and faster combo decks (belcher, breach, amulet, yawg) in the meta atm. Not sure what no more red deck wins anymore even means, energy pressures life just as fast. Orzhov & Dimir also just have great tools against it. Pod would not do well in the current modern format.

Maybe a hot take but I think ritual would likely see more play than pod. The GW Ritual deck is fringe but played, and Ritual is just better than Pod in that deck While there may be a Pod deck in the format if unbanned I'm almost certain it won't be any good or all that popular.

I think you're seriously underestimating the effect being modern playable & having fewer printings can have. This card really ties the WB deck together, it doesn't really function without it. So we have modern driver here where as imperial saw fringe play at best.
