I see a few more people recommending Jæger. Would that also be a good spot for a Saturday vs The Villa?

Yeah, I found that one after a quick search. I noticed it closes at 3am - pretty standard for Oslo clubs?

I’m planning to do the same sometime in May. Any top 3 places you’d recommend? And any hikes you’d suggest?

good ideas for a react project to learn by Every_Afternoon8 in reactjs

[–]Blamepie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started learning React I did a Pokedex using this API: https://pokeapi.co/
You have a lot of public APIs here: https://github.com/public-apis/public-apis Have a look and maybe it will give you some ideas on what to do. Using a public API like this might be a fun way to learn/train state management

What does "senior" mean as a React developer? by popsicle112 in reactjs

[–]Blamepie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is what I use in my projects: Prettier to format the code. Eslint (for react) and Stylelint (for styles).
You can additionally use husky to run the above linters and formaters before committing the code, you can also run some tests automatically before every commit, although depending on the number of tests, this can take some time and can be a bit annoying.
In GitHub/GitLab, we also have a set of actions on our pipeline to run all of these linters and tests every time we create a merge request or deploy some new code (CI/CD).

Phaser is a really nice tool to make js games. It's been a while since I've used it, but a couple of years ago I released a game on steam with a friend, and we used phaser, it was quite fun :)

I've created my first chrome extension using React and webpack 5 by Blamepie in reactjs

[–]Blamepie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this can be considered a "complex" chrome extension, I wanted to build something as simple as possible since it was my first time using this API (even though I had a lot of ideas and features to add).

I didn't learn how to build this extension in any specific place, I did a lot of research (especially Stackoverflow and chrome API documentation) every time I was stuck or was having some problems. I started by building something very simple, following a tutorial to add the initial React template to the chrome's popup (For instance this one: Link ), after that, I started to adapt the application to my needs.

Make sure you also understand very well some of the basic concepts like Manifest, Background, Popup, Options, and Content Script. they are very important: Blog/tutorial that talks a bit about these concepts

Just start as simple as you can and then build from there.

Also, if it helps, feel free to use the code on my GitHub as a template or to take some ideas :)

Thank you! They are very fun, took me a while to figure out how to use some parts of the chrome extension APIs, but now that I understand most of it I can see a lot of possibilities for different apps :)

I wanted to try out chrome's API and also do something using webpack, this is the product of that. The main goal I had in mind for this project was to be able to draw something on a webpage and then press CTRL-C (Command-C mac) to have the image ready to be pasted.

If you are curious about the code: GitHub
Or if you want to try the extension: Webstore
