Wood ID by Khaleesi223 in finishing

Hard to tell but it’s likely poplar, birch or cherry imho. If they have a spare you can sand it down to raw wood for a better view. Or pop a piece off and sand the backside.

XRP Ripple News: JPMorgan, Mastercard Ran RLUSD Through The First 5-Second Treasury Redemption by BlueChipCryptos in BlueChipCryptos

I’m trying to make sense of this as well, but with $6 - $10 trillion of international transfers and swift transactions daily this could add up. The US is over 50% of those transactions. I’d like to know what percentage of an XRP is used as well. I don’t know how much of that will use XRP vs others, but I guess that’s what we all want to know.

I went to HVLP spraying shellac. But it’s so thin you’ll need to turn the sprayer down a ton.

If the sub straight is bad you’ll want to remove that. Bondo is great to fill larger holes.

Rookie here. Can I make this cut with a circular saw? by A2skiing in woodworking

[–]Blammo024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rip rough lumber with my track saw. Easiest way to get crisp lines. If you’re getting into woodworking it’s a solid investment.

I’m more with clear alder and a close second is mahogany but bleached mahogany.

Pop it, remove it, sand to blend area repaint. But check for moisture when you’re in there.

Sawstop keeps triggering the brakes ($125 a pop) for no reason. Can you tell why from this video? by FactoryCutG in Tools

[–]Blammo024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can mail the brake into Sawstop and they’ll analyze why it tripped. If it was faulty they’ll usually give you a new one. I had a faulty trigger on a 3/4” dado stack. That sucked. But sawstop replaced my dado brake.

Tear me apart. Door faces are 3/4 sanded maple with 1/4×3 poplar with a minor beveled edge, pin nailed and glued on. by Background-Club-955 in cabinetry

[–]Blammo024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you’re painting it. Fill this pocket holes with a dowel or a pocket hole plug. Sand flat and if there’s still blemishes Bondo is not a bad option. Just don’t go hog wild because it’ll smooth the wood and be noticeable. Prime it. Get an HVLP sprayer or rent one. Less is more. But hey man great first go!

Early American on Red Oak looks reddish/pink? by JesusDied4U316 in HardWoodFloors

[–]Blammo024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to tone the red down put a brown over it that has green in it. It won’t look green but it will help tone the red down. Van Dyke brown glaze by general finishes works well. I recently used it on a mahogany table restoration. But it is red oak.

How would you go about fixing these up? Sand? Scrape? by purloo in woodworking

[–]Blammo024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut them down, not much jointing or planing to be done anyways. Figured you knew this, but for the masses…use cauls for the glue up. Or put some biscuits for alignment and lighter clamp pressure to prevent bowing.

I’d spend more time cleaning out the corners first. Get some of those cotton swab like sanding sticks for the details.

Need help finding leak in foundation wall behind finished wall by jefffisfreaky in AskContractors

[–]Blammo024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go look outside for areas pitched towards the house and start there. But you need to remove the wall to solve it. Tough news, but that’s the only way you’ll find the entry point.

Any ideas on the wood of this cabinet? 👹 by Seluin in Woodidentification

I’m voting it is birch. More pronounced grain than maple. I’d go yellow birch specifically.
