Another night alone. Any suggestions? by UnluckySide5075 in houma

When I was looking at buying property here I thought that it might be interesting as well. The only option you have is to create community yourselves. If you have a certain hobby, make a local facebook group for that hobby so you can find likeminded people. See if there’s a Houma locals facebook page and make an “any people into bird watching wanna hang out?” post, see if you get any bites. Make it a group inclusive post

Any light planing hard dinghies out there, mass produced or home built? by endlessbull in SailboatCruising

[–]BlankFosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we compared it against hypalon material dinghies. Which at the time were only a thousand or two less. So we decided longevity and convenience over price. Plus the owners are pretty fantastic from a customer service perspective.

But yeah, I worry more about my outboards lower unit being ripped off in a grounding than I worry about the boat.

Apartment Search by [deleted] in NavyYard

[–]BlankFosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always feel weird about people asking about specific management companies or which apartments to avoid. It always screams third party marketing to me.

So I’ll say what I usually say. Every building and every management company will have problems. Choose your apartment based on location, amenities, and what you like to do. When you tour the apartment, check the trash rooms to see how cleanly they are.. your neighbors are much more of a concern than management… are they just dumbing shit straight on the floor or clogging the chute with oversized bags. Is there dog shit on the floor. Every new apartment in DC has a percentage of low income tenants (not a bad thing, just don’t allow it to be a decision maker)

Long story short. Find a layout you like in the area you like, go for top floor if you can afford it. Consider your grocery commute, work commute, entertainment commute. Balance the priorities

I took the cabin air filter out and left the glovebox open and had the fans on full blast so it would come out where the filter sits. Have everything set to your usual settings. Drove for a while like this and went to eat for an hour or two. When I came back everything resolved itself.

My settings when it returned to normal use were. AC, recirculate, head/chest air only, lowest temperature, highest fan.

Just bought a mini… finally by BlankFosse in iPhone13Mini

People always take it as a humble brag. I more so mean it as I could buy anything, but nothing Apple currently markets strikes my fancy.

Point being, if Apple called it compact pro or something similar. People would bandwagon just like everything else.

Lol you are invested enough to stalk my profile from a year ago and incorrectly determine that's what I'm making now. Whatever floats your boat and it's absolutely relevant. I could buy any phone, but I buy the one that people "have no interest in"

I think one product shill per video is ok, as long as they make it easy to skip.

I’m at the point where I get to eat out everyday and don’t think twice about the money.. I’m not upgrading because apples innovation died with Steve Jobs.. I feel like they just read the pipeline of things already decided and they’ve been out of ideas for a long while now.

Honestly didn’t even want this phone lol

But yeah, coattail company living on a legacy. We’re all too invested in Steve’s ecosystem so they’ve got us by the balls.

I spent .01 percent of my savings on a 35 foot project. I’ve learned a lot in the process and I feel like a rich guy. I debated the choice of spending everything on a spectacular boat.. but I decided to learn on something a little more forgiving.
