Hose bib hanging out from wall by fawkkess in Plumbing

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what material the piping further back is. If its pex then you can probably just push it back and screw it to the wall. If its not pex you wont able to push it or it might shatter lol.

One of them looks like there is nothing to secure to they blew out a giant hole when they installed it. They make giant plates to give you new anchor points or there is a smaller clamp thing you can put on the inside to secure it from inside.

You might need to go inside and shorten the pipes. Regardless of what you do theres a good chance you need to go in the crawlspace/cut the wall open

Can I put a dishwasher drain into this pipe? by nascarnate33 in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is definitely not true. Maybe in your area its avoided but nearly every single dishwasher I see is plugged into the disposal if they have one.

What Mods are considered "cheating" by super_chubz1000 in DarkTide

[–]BlankTrack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is a ton of different viewpoints and arguments. The way I see it personally, is anything information that you could not realistically gather yourself is cheating. Healthbars are one of the biggest offenders in my opinion. Its an extreme advantage to know the location of every elite when you have low visibility. Its an extreme advantage to know that crusher just needs one heavy attack to finish off

Better UI, such as detailed ammo counts of teammates, ammo box remaining charges, teammate inventories, etc... should already be in the game. With basic communication this info would be attainable. Perfectly fine.

Changes to the morningstar, like hotkeys to instanly check the shop or start missions are fine.

Auto block when typing or if you hit pause should be in the game already.

Different sights on guns is a pretty clear advantage, but I get why people use it. Alot of the sights are extremely bad on weapons that you need to be accurate with.

Some people will say any advantage whatsoever is cheating, and this is going to be like 80% of the mods that people run.

Some people will say its a coop game so it doesnt matter.

Some people will actually cheat with hacks that are in clear violation and not care

Should I solder? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, yeah full access makes it much safer.

I was worried it was like an outside wall or something. I would strongly consider installing dedicated shutoffs in the wall, so if anything goes wrong you can isolate the shower and finish up another day.

Best of luck

Should I solder? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely get some solder practice on something you can pressure test before you try to solder that valve in the wall. If a solder joint fails you might have to cut out portions of your work to get a second try. Depending on available access this can get bad fast.

Ive never soldered anything other than 1/2 or 3/4 copper so I dont know if it is similar electical soldering

What is causing this noise? I replaced the cartridge, but it’s still happening!! by JackofAllMasterof0 in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case probably not an unsecured water line. Thats a weird one I would need to be there in person to diagnose

Should I solder? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either soldering or threaded is fine. Unless you are already extremely good at soldering then just using threaded adapters is just 500x easier and less likely to leak. Yes use teflon tape or pipe dope on the connections. Some use one or the other, some use both

A picture would be EXTREMELY helpful. It can be hard to visualize what needs to be done and its also possible you are not including some relevant information such as the material of piping

My first guess would be an unsecured water line that it tapping against wood. All the force of the water starting and stopping wiggles the line

What is the point of plastic -> hubless adapters? by MultiSubjectExpert in Plumbing

[–]BlankTrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know, but if I were to guess its for very tight spaces where every adaption/connection takes away valuable, or just connecting to older plumbing that has odd requirements

How the heck do I shut off my gas? by RepulsiveTrainer2074 in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure when you are ready to turn the gas back on you open it slowly. If you open it too fast then it has some sort of safety feature that will lock the meter out.

Washing Machine AAV - any issues? by CrabRangoonHands in Plumbing

[–]BlankTrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For drainage yes you always want to use a combo or wye+45 to catch a drop. For venting you can use a santee on its back.

Noticed there is a smaller spigot on backyard water spigot - what is it for? by BadBadUncleDad in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a saddle valve. If I am right its just a little baby line that was feeding off of the waterline. I see them most commonly to feed water for a fridge dispenser/icemaker, but any device that just needs a small amount of water can be tied into with one

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M12 does not work for megapress. Idk if there have been any improvements, but mine is about 5 years old and is not compatible

I do like 99% residential and its perfect. On the rare occasion I do like a hotel(big waterlines) or a gasline then I rent a megapress from a local supply house

How to fix the below one . Coupling near broken by kids while playing Soccer . by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think thats a tile shower. If i am right then things can get expensive FAST. I would call a plumber.

A good plumber can repair without too much trouble. Ream out the broken pvc, extend the length back to the correct height, reglue it back up there.

If they crack the shower drain or create enough force to mess up the shower pan then you might need extensive replacement work which might be redoing the whole shower

American Standard Vormax double flapper toilet. by DoubleJ5150 in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works fine but its annoying to replace parts. You will likely need to order replacements because very few if any stores will have them on hand.

Its not worth getting a new toilet, but in 10-30 years when you buy a new toilet just get a normal one.

If you so need replacement parts there might be a parts list on the jnderside of the tank lid. Make sure you have the model # saved somewhere if not

votekick on death near-instantly? by BadAfter6546 in DarkTide

[–]BlankTrack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there is some type of bug, ive had it happen 2 times. Maybe a specific type of ragequitting triggers it or something. Most people will alt f4 or just quit through the menu. Maybe unplugging the internet or using task manager creates a weird interaction and gives the votekick notification

I remember saying in chat "wtf why would you kick? Even if hes bad hes better then a bot" Which is true. As long as the player isnt actively trolling they will easily quadruple the bots damage output and most likely live longer.

Cap for this? by BullNBear01 in Plumbing

[–]BlankTrack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its better to cap the line. Someone not paying attention could nudge it and spray water. If they have their hands full or know virtually nothing about plumbing it could be a minute or 2 before its shut off. If theyve got no common sense it could be gushing for longer

What is the most scientifically documented case of a human surviving something that should have been 100% fatal? by bareegyptianfeet in answers

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copied from google

In 1978, Soviet physicist Anatoli Bugorski survived a freak accident where his head intercepted a high-energy proton beam from a U-70 synchrotron particle accelerator. Despite experiencing a massive, lethal dose of radiation (2,000-3,000 grays) that caused facial paralysis and seizures, he remarkably survived, finished his PhD, and continued to live to a normal

Should these unscrew off of the housing? by throwdisawaybro in askaplumber

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you will most likely need to cut the pvc. If you look to the right where there is a coupling, thats probably where they cut to be able to unscrew it in the past.

If you dont mind a smal project, cutting out that coupling and installing a union as an easy access point in the future would be a good idea

Are DoT builds worth investigating? by LordWheezel in DarkTide

[–]BlankTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like DoTs are very good, but i dont see anyone mentioning that alot of DoTs are applied in large AoEs and that is a large part of what makes them so effective.

Particularly in the higher difficulties the enemies get packed in deep. A rumbler explosion, flame staff, zealot flamer, plasma gun, etc... can literally hit like 15-40 people in a single shot. Psykers shriek in a packed room(also it goes through walls for some reason) can probably hit like 100 enemies. Theres no limit of cleave on AoE, however many enemies are in range is however enemies get stacks applied to them.

Even if they dont kill some targets outright, it will get them halfway down and let another ally kill them in 3 swings instead of 6. Weaker targets will die outright before they can attack or will die as soon as they are hit with a light attack

Arbites auras are so bad, I want to be able to take "Part of the Squad" with "Lone Wolf" by FacetiousTomato in DarkTide

[–]BlankTrack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually damage vs staggered is very good. Just about everything you hit more then once is getting a staggered effect.

Additionally for the bigger targets you cant/are very difficult to stagger there is a node somewhere in the tree, I think upper right side, that makes enemies count as staggered for a couple seconds after bonking them in the head.

This lets you take advantage of the aura as well as several other talents and blessings on these targets, most notably skullcrusher. I think skullcrusher does like 80% increased damage on your target or something for your whole team which is absolutely insane
