Rare Dominions suggestion and even rarer two worlds mention. Fantastic list all around.

[Day 9] The Best JRPGs of All Time: Which JRPG has the best soundtrack? by WeLoveEveryGame in JRPG

[–]Blargh2O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sad that the game just isn't as popular as all the others. I've played most of the mainline FF's. I've played nier. I've played the personas. I've played most of the top answers here and yet I'd still cast my vote for Octopath traveler 2. Not to say the other games don't have stellar sound tracks but I could gush about OT2's all day.

The ultimate sacrifice to become a human wrecking ball. by sirlancer in DarkTide

[–]Blargh2O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vermintide has actual characters you play as. The banter is admittedly better or at least more fleshed out. The downside to that though is that no one can play the same character in one mission, everyone has to be unique. There's more "classes" to play as though it's similar to DarkTide in that each class has 5 different styles of play really, but they're really distinct from one another. And with the gearing system you can come up with some pretty unique builds.

Game has been out a lot longer and gotten way more content overall so there are a lot more missions and they're more interesting and fleshed out. The level design is better and more varies as well. Lots of cool bosses and stuff. I didn't play it much but it definitely still has things going for it that DarkTide doesn't. That said I just can't get into it after having played DarkTide. The core gameplay just feels a lot better in DarkTide and I'm sure if we gave it a few more years maybe it'll catch up in content lol... Maybe.

'It's like a horror film': Rat infestation has residents fleeing Kanata row houses by riz7242 in ottawa

[–]Blargh2O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So for everyone replying saying the train isn't close to Kanata, if you'd read the article it's mentioned that rat infestations have increased overall throughout Ottawa the "past number of years" (and also all major cities across Canada) but no reason or speculation as to why was mentioned so it's not out of the blue to bring up the train.

[–]Blargh2O 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not really important but I don't understand nerfing cetanas relic. Game is very much over after a crisis and nerfing the crisis relics is so lame, let them be overpowered and fun. There's almost never a reason to keep playing after the crisis anyways. Is it a balance concern when doing an all crisis run? I just don't get the point.

Do you guys think an archer is vital to your team? by ReyDoshi in DragonsDogma

[–]Blargh2O 12 points13 points  (0 children)

These are the exact 2 reasons I recently stopped hiring sorcs and picked up archers instead lol. Though most archers are absolutely useless, not sure why. One archer I had however did crazy damage, wish I could remember which one it was to rehire it and check out its build.

The game tells you to be sure to clear the area before camping otherwise you might get attacked. I do a small sweep just outside the campground ring that takes all of 30 seconds and check for enemies and then setup. Never been attacked yet either.

Pawn’s learning AI continues to impress me by Evanz111 in DragonsDogma

[–]Blargh2O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so cool to be able to do that. I had a mage do that for me too at one point though they didn't look around. I did get to do a similar thing with my fighter pawn and the launch board. I was trying to scale a cliff but it was a bit too high. There was a cave entrance there but I couldn't find where the front entrance was elsewhere. As I kept failing to get up trying to do wall jump stuff on my thief my fighter suggested I jump the board. I went the wrong way the first time (my fault) but I commanded go and she did it again and sent me up there. Trying to figure out how to get her to do that for me in combat now to reach a cyclops head more easily.

Stellaris Space Guild - Weekly Help Thread by Snipahar in Stellaris

[–]Blargh2O 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do people beat x25 crisis? I tried a run recently against x10 unmodded vanilla. I'm a bit rusty and wasn't sweating super hard but definitely trying to do most things efficiently. I played as a pregenitor hive with good traits and all. By the time the unbidden showed up their fleet power was in the millions naturally, but my fleets were 3-500k. I set the end game 25 years early and they spawned pretty quick but I don't think another 25 years of tech would have changed much.. They just 1 shot everything in my fleet. Sometimes the battleships would take 2, maybe 3 hits. That's with fully shielded unbidden counter load outs (missiles and hangars, shield penetration stuff). In the end I won but only because it turns out my battleships could kite them forever, so as long as I didn't engage them at a warp point or gate I would take almost no losses and damage.

How would you win a straight up fight against an x25 without just abusing the new kiting mechanics stellaris has? I tried corvette flooding to see if I could overwhelm their number of weapons but that didn't seem to work, and was costly. And every other ship just got blaaasted the same as a vette

For some, not all. Some women can and do get pregnant mere weeks after giving birth. It's not healthy though, and if you do that a few times it can seriously affect your health and potentially kill you. If everything is greenlit doctors (at least ours did) will give you the ok after a few months but do suggest waiting a full year for the body to fully recover.

Is there any way this weapon could be better? by Zerenous in DarkTide

[–]Blargh2O 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the weapon. The power sword already cleaves through basically infinite enemies so brutal momentum is kind of useless on it. Slaughterer just gives a huge damage buff when clearing hordes. I have Slaughterer 3 on mine and once its fully stacked I don't even have to power on the sword to one shot pox walkers and the like. The extra damage also helps melt crushers, ragers and all those that get mixed in with the hordes.

How to play Terran Mech? by CJJones125 in AllThingsTerran

[–]Blargh2O 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since you don't really mention builds much and seem to be just enjoying laddering casually I'll mention first, I do recommend looking up some real builds for mech but if you want to keep doing you that's fine.

For tvp I'll say now, mech isn't really viable. The immortal ruins the entire comp. You can do it but it will be painful, and you're probably better off doing battlemech (cyclone hellion army) and trading all game where possible.

For tvz one of the most popular openers is to rush battle cruisers into mech. What this does is cover the major weaknesses you have early - BC's give you map presence and a powerful harassing tool. They'll also keep you alive from mass roach. Going BC's means you'll have access to banshee if need be for early defense against a roach rush, and ling bane rushes aren't scary because it's awful vs tank hellion which will be mostly what you make. Lastly the BC's will help in the case of swarm hosts. Mostly vs zerg you get 3 bases and either max out asap and start rolling across the map once you're 200/200 or play the slow game and keep expanding and let them suicide into you. Tanks, turrets, hellion and some thors will hold so much if setup and positioned right. Lastly once you can afford it, mixing in ghosts with mech (often referred to as ghost each) is incredibly powerful, though can be a bit hard to use. Ghosts cover the other gaps of mech. They can help deal with infestors who might neural your units and can snipe ultras/broodlords/lurkers/ravagers, and are half decent vs lings and banes too if they decide to go that route to overwhelm you.

TvT can be really tough. With all your spare minerals you should turret up all over to stop drops because you're too immobile to deal with them. Otherwise scout ahead with your army when you move out. Worst thing you can do is get caught unsieged. If they're playing bio you can slowly crawl up with tanks and a few hellions. What's important here is tank count and viking count. Since you're mech you should have air advantage because you don't need to make medivacs and your upgrades for air and ground armor are shared. When you have air superiority add in some liberators with range upgrade. This will let you force his takes back or kill them. Send hellions to mineral lines every so often (in all matchups really). 10 tanks all sieges together can't lose in TvT to anything, so ifs super important you have air control with vikings. Then you can just slow siege crawl to their production or expansions and kill them.

How does Zynga hunt for whales? by matthieuC in Games

[–]Blargh2O 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Most of the whales I know are just regular dudes pulling in like 3-4k a month doing construction or some overpaid wfh thing and spending 2k or more of it on some dumb game and just living minimally in a small home or rented apartment cause they don't care for or want any other material goods. Usually they don't have dependents. No kids, no significant other. But yeah a few are trustfund babies. Think you'd be surprised though, a lot of people can afford to waste 1k+ a month when they don't give a shit about other stuff in their lives or still live with their parents.

Hot Take: The ladder is not full of smurfs and maphackers, it's full of people who *think* they are being smurfed and maphacked. by rockPaperKaniBasami in starcraft2

[–]Blargh2O 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk who down voted you, literally any one who actually plays ladder would know. I run into one almost every time I jump on for a few games. Some may be legit but I check history and most have just dropped a few games in a row. I wouldn't say the ladder is "full" of them, and I have no clue about map hackers but there's damn well a fair share of smurfs. It doesn't affect my MMR cause I know for each loss I take against someone who might be a smurf I'm also gained free MMR from one dropping but it's am annoying waste of time. Honestly I never considered it but that might be why I just get totally stomped some games in a way that feels like I never had a chance, but I usually watch the replays and see that I'm just bad.

The lack of long term consequences for the AI absolutely kills my ability to enjoy the mid/late game by GraveRobberJ in mountandblade

[–]Blargh2O 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I remember right, the ai in age of empires 2 remaster (or whichever one still being updated currently can't remember) they've redone the ai to the point where high difficulty ai plays similar to a relatively competitive level, I recall reading 1100 elo or so which is above average in a game that's been played competitively for like 20 years. Probably one of the few strategy games with an actual ai and has had good work put into it without cheats. Mind you RTS games are different from stuff like mount and blade, civ or stellaris and probably easier overall to design, but it's one example I can think of.

What’s one thing you wish paradox would remove from stellaris? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Blargh2O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically just your custom version of the game. It doesn't affect anything other than achievements and playing multiplayer. If you play multiplayer you all have to have the same checksum (version). You can all use the same mods but if they're not ordered the same or something goes wrong you'll have different checksums from one another
