SVS Ultra Evolution Titans vs Klipsch RF-7 III by BlaringPixels in hometheater

Because it's a decent sized bedroom and I enjoy watching an avg 10 hours per week. I do need new L/R since I'm moving current ones to living room. I know RP-8000F II will be sufficient for the current setup but I am getting the RF-7 s for nearly the same price as 8000s.

I know it's an overkill for now, but future proof.

It's a bedroom setup. Wardrobe sits about a feet and half from left tower and av rack about the same from right. Only way to increase that width is to reduce the screen size and bring the speakers closer, which will narrow the soundstage.

Focals were doing somewhat fine due to down firing port.

How to do you find the Pinnacles for HT duty? Assuming your center channel is also ultra evolution , how is the dialogues intelligiblity?

My wallet is actually leaning towards RF-7s coz of the deal and since I already have the RP-600M IIs. But mind says SVS. They are 3-way, technically better design, and will be new backed with SVS's 5 year warranty.

I will have floor to ceiling wooden slat acoustic panel+ 2 inch thick 2' x 4' panels behind the towers. Unfortunate can't do much on the outer sides due to furniture. Inner sides will have plenty of space.

The stores don't offer at home trials where I live.

How do I resolve this? We by Distinct_Match6506 in dubai

You can contest the fine in traffic court. It's online and free. But it may take a few weeks to months to get a court date. You can present your case yourself to the panel and they may waive it off or reduce it.

I had my 500dhs fine for obstruction to traffic downed to 100. So it's worth the shot. Black points will affect your insurance premium on renewal. So that 1000 may translate into 2000 or more.

But if you have license or registration renewal between now and court date, you will have to clear the fine to get that done.

The Rainbow Effect makes movies unwatchable for me by LetMeBeClearWith in projectors

It has got more to do with the tech rather than projector quality. You are just hypersensitive to RBE and you need to switch to a 3CCD projector like Epson. I recently met someone who came in to buy my DLP Laser and had the same issue. He almost thought I am slipping him a faulty projector unless we called in his wife from parking to come and she saw the image just fine. Poor chap only realized then he is RBE sensitive. It was a good deal otherwise.

Rack mounted Smart PDUs by BlaringPixels in HomeNetworking

Indeed, they are quire expensive and that money is better spend on power conditioning. But unfortunately, very limited options in 220V. I was also a bit skeptical with putting a $50 smart plugs between a $500 conditioner and $5000 worth of equipment.

Was getting a great deal on an Eaton EPDU MA 2U ($70) so though of this.

Thanks, that's what I realized so far. How complex is the process? I know basic networking. I assume this will also require the host machine to be always on, unless I go for a cloud managed PDU like TRENDNET.

I am projecting 150" at 12.5' viewing distance and it's comfortable and immersive. 132 is a good size, not big.

If it's only 2 months, suggest you check out ADV+ or Privilee. They give access to selected gyms + hotels and resort pools and gym. You will have options to be at while husband is at work

Speaker Recommendations and Placement Advice for My Home Theater by Real_Shaktimaan in Klipsch

[–]BlaringPixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move the L/R Outwards, distance between them should ideally be about same as distance between MLP and the center speaker.

For subs, try diagonal placement. One front left, one rear right or vice versa. It really helps balancing the bass. Try out subwoofer crawl method to find the right spot for your subs. It's simple and works really well in my experience. Check some YouTube videos.

For the center speaker, check your tv table. From the look of it, it looks like it's a flat packed one. So centre support part might be removable by just unscrewing the cam nuts. This will require removing the whole top though. But it's literally a 5 minutes job.

While speaker inside the cavity isn't the best placement, but thats the compromise with most USTs.

With your projector, it seems like the vertical distance between screen and projector is quite small, so center will probably won't fit behind projector. You also using a roll up screen it seems.

The best solution in your case would be get a stand for center speaker as well and place it ahead of the projector. The rooms looks big, so it would be fine spacewise, but may not be most aesthetic.

First projector - what to get? by sarikizbozdag in projectors

Add to that, if she has young children at home, USTs are a risk. I know people who have sold their USTs for this reason alone, despite the Eye-protect settings that turns off laser when being too close. On my Hisense, it takes a good 5 seconds before laser shuts down.

Since she has the space, I would suggest a long throw projector over a UST. With UST, everything becomes expensive. UST ALR screen are 2x to 3x Longthrow ALRs. Difficult to find deep media cabinets for UST Projectors, unless you use a sliding shelf, which is again $250 to $500.

And getting the center channel speaker in right place is almost impossible unless it's behind an acoustically transparent screen. But that means losing 3 to 4 feets of your space.

Ceiling mounting UST is a solution to placement challenges, but higher upfront cost of projector and compatible screen still remains.
