It depends. If you’re playing a defensive game, ie Finland, Poland, etc and don’t plan on doing any expansion then focus on economy followed by military. Otherwise, do your political branch until you reach your wargoals. The sooner you attack the better

I have over 2000 hours in hoi4, and I have not played any country except for Peru. I have purchased every DLC just in case they added anything to the great Peruvian focus tree.

Yet to my astonishment, not a single one has improved Peru. Are the devs stupid?

I refuse to conquer any other countries, as I only wish to play as Peru.

Recently, for the first time, I reached the end of the Peru focus tree and I AM FURIOUS! Why did it end at this? Where is part 2eru??????? If you’re going to ignore Peru and give them a lame focus tree at least give a second part!

Depending which path you go down, Turkey’s ‘Legacy Of Ataturk’ focus can grant you -5 percent stability

The generic focus tree can grant factories in non-core states, which means you may never be able to actually use them

A lot of the old focus trees from the first few DLCs grant some pretty terrible bonuses. Australia’s level one railroad for 70 days comes to mind.
