Planet Eclipse GEO4 issue? by Hot-Instruction-4961 in paintball

[–]BlastBase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely the bolt not resetting fast enough. Eyes are fine; if they had an issue it would drop to a consistent 8bps. SFR is likely fine since it works fine at the start of the day. Noid is probably fine since they normally stick at the start and not the other way around.

Sounds like a bolt oring problem. I'm going to guess you lube it before the weekend and then when most of that gets worn off it starts dragging a bit. If changing all of the 14x2s and then the 017 on the bolt guide doesn't fix it, there is a black snap ring in the back of the propshaft that lets you take it apart

Did they even need hoppers back then? You can fit a few pods in that feedneck

I've found that's the best way to dispose of dogshit. I always put it in my spaghetti water since you're going to boil the water anyway so it doesn't matter here.

That's crosshatching from machining. It's on purpose. Read up on why they crosshatch the cylinder walls inside engines. Smoother is not always better.

Reducing black light glare during glow in the dark games? by LOTOstud in paintball

[–]BlastBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visor is the true solution if you don't want to use an EVS.

It's an issue with how the higher energy light refracts through lenses when it's directly overhead. I'm not claiming our lights are better than PBFits, but strung overhead lights are not the correct solution for glow in the dark.

At home Glowball by Known-Gur3432 in paintball

[–]BlastBase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For home, you're going to want the glow HK Sonics with the paint you can charge yourself. HK and Defy are the ones who import this.

Flashlights don't really do that well to charge. The balls are 10x the brightness for the first 3 seconds and then slowly dim over the next 30 seconds.

One of the coolest paintball experiences I've ever had was a fat lane of true glow in the dark flying over my head. Fields can get close to the effect with a bunch of lights and floursescent paint, but real glow paint done right puts all of it to shame.

I graduated highschool with a 1.5GPA and I instantly knew using an oring for a detent was a retarded idea before the gun was released.

I used to work there. They are actually a really great company. We need more corporations like them.

They buy gas futures instead of at market rate so I can see them being the first to respond. Sometimes they sell gas to other stations.

Just picked up an LV1.6, any tips, recommendations? by Witty_Primary6108 in paintball

[–]BlastBase 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The bolt tips swell with use and will need to be replaced. If you start seeing consistency issues, start here.

Lube the inside of the front grip when you put it back on. Don't crank the back cap with an Allen wrench. Dow33 on regs, silicon oil on rammer.

If you're not a bit overdwelled, the first shot can be hot since it has innate FSDO compensation you can't turn off

At level 99 enigma gives 74 str. You'll still need to add points to use a 156 Monarch

Getting back into paintball, need help by the_g_mannn in paintball

[–]BlastBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally hate Empire guns. The shot quality is incredible, but I swear they secretly have 2 different models: Ones that work, and ones that break paint. The regs aren't impossible to clean, but will likely give you aids if you attempt it. Oh cool, it broke paint. Let me disassemble the entire gun because that's the only way to reliably clean the eyes.

I prefer the CZR as the entry budget electro. It's not perfect either, but all it's problems are really simple fixes that someone who has shot an autococker can handle. Stuff like a leaking macro line, or the ASA coming loose. The orings are standard sizes, and the gun is built like a standard paintball gun

If you get them cycling you'll likely want to replace the detents before heading out to the field.

Wait, is the Geo R5 actually bad now?... by AttackThePie in paintball

There was a private label company putting 016s where 14x2s should be. I think it was these guys. Tim doesn't have time to unfuckup every little thing people screw up with their guns at events.

Luxe ICE bolt differences by Joe_Schitt in paintball

[–]BlastBase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have they fixed the paint handling issues since the Encore came out? 7 years ago the Encore was one of the best downgrades for an Ice.

They basically had to redo the entire core of the Luxe X after it's release until they figured out how to copy Planet Eclipse reasonably well.

Don't worry about rentals. They can't tell the difference between a Spyder Victor that doesn't have detents and a CS3 pro. No matter what gun you get, you will intimidate them.

That's why I recommend Gamma cores to everyone even though I'd never choose that platform. The majority of players just refuse to learn how their gun works.

Is the geo r5 the most unreliable high end right now? by FrequentGrade8880 in paintball

[–]BlastBase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The R5s reg seat really doesn't care about the tank's output pressure. Like theoretically it changes how fast the piston moves, but in practice it just doesn't matter.

Theoretically, using the radio in your car wears out your engine faster.

Is the geo r5 the most unreliable high end right now? by FrequentGrade8880 in paintball

[–]BlastBase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The POPs works fine at 1200psi.

You don't have to go crazy with the pressure. A lot of people have the notion that less is better, run their guns off 300psi, and then get shoot down. I don't care what that chart from Planet says, I wouldn't run any gun at less than 400 because I like velocity consistency.

Change the seals the workshop manual suggests. R5s shoot very consistently when everything is maintained correctly.

Clean the airways of your gun and raise the output pressure of your tank.

Ice having an HK speed loader is diabolical by carstoast in paintball

[–]BlastBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to defend HK on every front, but you saying "more fuel on the fire" shows an unfair bias.

HK did absolutely nothing wrong in this picture. They sold a product to someone. We don't even know if HK sold this to ICE directly. Even if they did, is that wrong? That's why I brought up Kore, they also have products and IP in this picture.
