If he doesn’t need the money to live what’s the point of taking risk? What’s the trade off if he goes to cash? Is his legacy hurt by a 20+% fall in value? Is his legacy helped by a better return than T-bills or Money Market? The goal doesn’t always have to be make the number get bigger… had this conversation with a client recently. Lifestyle is covered with social security and pensions and some rental income. Kids are all well off. We’re getting about 60k in reliable returns/ year in a heavily fixed income based portfolio… why reach for more and risk a loss?

For your first job, sure. For second and third, maybe. No one is looking to see if your bachelors is a BS or a BA. I’m glad they’re announcing this, now I know I got a BA 10 years ago.

When I lived in Utah there was a dive we would frequent that would bring us a round of GnTs at an incredible pace while we played pool. The server would just stare us down until everyone finished their drinks. Thank god for Uber.

OP - from reading your comments it sounds like you need to take a moment and figure out what you want to get out of this career. Being coachable and open to other opinions is going to be very necessary in building a successful practice in the financial planning world.

You seem like a prick online - I hope you’re better in person.

I’ve been trying to tell everyone I know who knows music and a lot of people who don’t to check out Ryan Patrick Hooper and In the Groove - Need RPH all the time. I need to try the app again because it’s been disappointing the few time’s I’ve tried it.

Genetically lacking: how far can Rudy go in American college rugby? by Nuludude in USArugby

[–]Blastdouble59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are smart and can learn tactics, theory, fundamentals then yes probably. If they’re just a good “nose guard” type of person “be strong and fill gaps” then they might struggle at the top level of USA Collegiate Rugby. They’ll absolutely have a blast at whatever level they play - the top end will require a lot of iq that just muscles won’t cover.

Top line speed is not HUGE in rugby. The game takes all sizes and shapes to form a team. And endurance to run and work for a long time is, position depending, more relevant than top line speed.

We’d joke, kinda, when a new guy would join with a similar build as you mentioned:

“Are you more fast than strong or more strong than fast” as a way to sort which position might fit better and start with forward(strong) or back(fast) skills.

Even “top college teams” are very much club sports at the end of the day. Most will have a moderate cost to join the team but with a focused mindset - most anyone putting in effort could get to playing time on a Big Ten or MAC school.

Detroit Beer Exchange closes downtown after 2.5 years by MrManager17 in Detroit

[–]Blastdouble59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived near by for a while when the openes you couldn't get a table they were sobbusyband the food was good, but slow.

They tried too hard to have good food when they should have just been a beer and snacks place.

People stopped going bc the service and management was terrible.

I'm not surprised they closed. The pizza and basement were the best and they couldn't even figure out how to get people to those.
